You're in a good mood.

Why did they even waste the airfare to recall Conner? What changed in a day or two?

Maybe they made the determination that Fistric wasn't going back to Manitoba ever again and it was time to just get the prospects out of there? Eh, that doesn't seem right. Hm.

Conner is less expensive/lower cap hit? They couldn't still be pinching pennies like that though right?

I'll buy the "not wanting to break up the chemistry of the D" with Vishnevksiy even if I think it's stupid.

If Sawada is in the pressbox over Parrish, I'm forking over money for glass seats behind Tippett.

I'm not sure he'll translate well to NA.

On a serious note:

You barely get to see it, but he lays a big hit on someone in the first few seconds above.

Best one so far. Big open ice hit at the end:

This is from Andrew's:

Scouting Report:

Has good size and has shown a good scoring touch. Loves to crash, bang, dig out pucks to set up teammates and go after rebounds. Excellent forechecker who can deliver big hits. Very good defensive player. Plays well away from the puck.

Quotable:

"Ray is a solid two-way player. He plays physical and uses a good combination of grit and skill."

Stars director of amateur scouting Tim Bernhardt on Ray Sawada

At least we know he can afford to sacrifice some brain cells.

He's got three things going for him. First he's big. At 6'2" he's one of the bigger forwards on the team. He won't get run over or pushed around like Conner would. Second, he's a right shot right wing. Finally someone on this team can bury a pass across the crease with a one-timer. Loui struggles with that because he's a left shot. Third, he's a good defensive forward, which hopefully means Tippet won't bury him on the 4th line for 7 minutes tonight.

I don't know that he'll deserve 17 but I hope it's above 12. It's hard to evaluate a player when he spends most of the game on the bench.

I had not realized Sawada fought. In fact, I assumed he didn't based upon playing four years in college where there is no fighting.

He's also benefited from being a left shot on the right side when shooting off the rush -- where a decent portion of his goals have come.

From what I saw during training camp, he looked solid.

On the Ticket, he said he was in.

The reason he didn't play in Columbus was a tight groin. No confirmation on who caused it.

According to Heika the #1 PP unit will have Modano and Daley (or Robidas).
So can start complaining about the powerplay unit again if true.

So Richards gets hurt and that leads to Niskanen getting demoted?

That logic escapes me.
