Thanks for the scoop on Sawada, guys.

So can start complaining about the powerplay unit again if true.
Who would you recommend to replace Richards at the point?

I would recommend Niskanen not got taken off the top unit. To me, this means they plan on putting Sydor on the PP with Niskanen again. I try and keep my Sydor bashing in check, but this would make it uncontrollable.

Unfreakingbelievable

That logic escapes me.
Nisky was on the No. 1 PP unit? Have I not been paying attention or something?

Granted...we haven't scored a powerplay goal in 4 games, so obviously they haven't either.

9 times out of 10, he's been on the point with Richards since the big change in the PP lineup. Sometimes, I think once or less a game, Robidas was going out there with Richards.

I would have Ott, Lehtinen, Ribiero with Robidas and Niskanen in one unit.

Neal, Brunnstrom, Eriksson with Modano and Daley in the other.

I'd split up Modano and Ribiero. I'd run Brunnstrom on the half wall in the second unit because I think he's the best passer of these three. With Neal in front of the net and Eriksson moving around to set up a one timer.

I keep thinking Syd is out there with him on the PP for some reason. Gah.

I need to pay attention more.

Nisky and Daley would be an interesting unit together.

The only think I would do is just move Modano back to Richards spot and change nothing else (besides adding Brunnstrom like you said). Modano and Niskanen would be better than Robidas and Niskanen, IMO. Plus Daley and Robidas work well together.

I don't really want Modano on the point, but everyone knows that is what Tippett is going to do.

The only reason Sydor should touch the ice on a PP is if he trips and falls over the boards.

I still wouldn't mind see Grossman's shot out there.

Might as well try it once. Not like we have much to lose.

Connor was sent down because his wife went into labor and is about to give birth. He's going home to be there for the birth.

I'd like to take the credit but I can't:

Quote:
...Chris Conner, meanwhile, is out of here for personal reasons: His wife went into labor last night, and so he's headed home to be there for the birth of their child. Methinks he'll probably stick around home for a bit, play a few games in Peoria, then come back up to the Dallas Stars when all is well and settled.

Be back to opine in a bit.

Here's hoping he's the proud father of octuplets, and will need months to care for them early on!

But seriously, congrats to Conner and wife for their newborn, and.....well, take all the time you need, lol

I'm fairly certain I saw Sawada taking the ice for the pre-game skate in a shot from the pre-game show.

Steve Ott is on the ice for sure.

I'm pathetic for looking so hard, but I think I have 75% to 100% confirmation Sawada is in the pre-game skate.

Over Idiot Renner's shoulder, I can see "Sa" on the name plate and clearly the number "1" with another number behind it. The only player with a number in the teens and a last name that even starts with an "S" is Sawada.

I love how the pre-game show hardly ever gives the pertinent information -- who is actually playing in the game.

I can defiently see Sawada making a statement early I'm going to look for him flying into the Oiler's zone on his first shift and putting one of their defenceman into the boards hard

Called it.

Fing Tippet just said on the PP that he knows Modano has looked good on the point, but Robidas-Daley and Niskanen-Sydor have been good pairs.

What happened to Sydor's mantra, "Safe is Death".

F....F....F.....I hate Dallas' PP.

EDIT: I guess I didn't call Daley-Robidas or Modano, but I was right freaking Sydor is on the PP.

Idiot Renner just said that when Numb Nuts (Idiot Renner) and Tippett both wear blue, the Stars are 22-1.

They're both wearing blue, and I still hate Ric Renner.

Hey piqued, I'm glad you reminded me Petersen and Eriksson played so well together in the AHL. They just interviewed Petersen, and made no mention of it.

I was referring to them playing well together on the big club, but yeah, they did that too.

Parrish is also dressed in warmups... so who knows who's playing.

edit: Parrish is scratched.

According to NHL.com's Game Roster, Janik is back on the team. Either Wilson coming back from injury is going to force their hand or Sawada doesn't survive Wilson getting healthy.

Doug Janik
Andrew Hutchinson

And

Mark Parrrish!!!!! Welcome to the NHL and Happy Birthday Raymond Sawada!!!

This is dumb. The entire pre-game show and R&R's first segment have failed to mention once that a player was making his NHL debut. I want to hear about this kid.
