Valeri Bure might join the team in Philly today, Chris Therien too, but he won't dress.

Shayne Corson has been very solid for the Stars so far, he's fought twice (winning one in commanding fashion) and recorded a Gordie Howe Hattrick in the other.

Bondra had a pretty little goal in his debut against the Thrashers in February and has had 4 goals and 5 assists in 10 games with the Sens.

de Vries debuts tonight against Calgary.

Rucinsky looked like he's been playing with the team for years. he fit in quite well with Naslund and Morrison. he was the best of the 3 players (despite not getting on the scoresheet).

Sanderson looked like it will take him some time to settle in. he looked a little lost to the system for most of the game, but was able to score the only Canuck goal on the PP from the right slot.

Bergevin also looked like he'll take a little time fitting into the system. but that's not what he was aquired for anyways. he's there to losen up the lockerroom.

Well someone's gotta do the Coyotes.. heavy workload just keeping track..

Derek Morris as pretty much expected has been the #1 defenseman on the Coyotes.. playing more minutes than anyone else in both of his games so far. The toothless powerplay now has a weapon and he duly had a point on his debut and hit the post. When he made his home debut, he had played 4 games in 4 nights in 4 different cities, including the Bertuzzi Incident game. He has two games coming up this weekend against Colorado which will make 6 games in 8 nights..

Brent Johnson stopped 30 of 31 shots in his debut in a 1-1 tie with Minnesota. Next was a loss to LA where he stopped 34 of 37. His GAA is 1.94 and his save percentage is .941

Mike Rupp has only played one and a half games before a suspected separted shoulder has put him out indefinitely, probably for the season.

Mike Comrie has 11 points (4g 7a) in 16 games and is a minus 5.

Tom Koivisto has gone to the farm I think.. but will probably get a cup of coffee at some point.

Four rookies Goran Bezina, Erik Westrum, Matt Spiller, Jason Jaspers have all been called up, joining two rookies already on the team in Jeff Taffe and Freddy Sjostrom. Three other new players have also just played their first games for the Coyotes - Bryan Helmer, Todd Reirdon and Ivan Novoseltsev. That's thirteen new players in the past 10 games(!)

Kings -

Carter: Jet-lagged and it shows ... or at least that's the party line. We'll see how he adjusts to his new team over the next few games

Dempsey: His addition, return of Aaron Miller and the play of Tim Gleason have helped. Penalty killing has also improved over the last few. Dempsey blasted an insurance goal past Boucher last night

Cowan: too early to tell. Couple good hits last night were welcome.

V. Bure: played really well tonight, was all over the place and seem to have chemistry with Modano and Lehtinen. He got an assist on Morrows game tying goal.

Therien: Well he was Therien. Couple of horrific mistakes, tried to throw a couple of big hits and whiffed.

Awards:
Jan Hrdina had two assists tonight for NJ. I'll refrain from judging Lou's acquisitions until I see Kozlov play, which will be one of the next two games.

Rucinsky played like a stud. I hope he keeps it up because we're definately going to need him to.

I guess Kovalev is the only disappointment so far, every newly acquired players seems to play great. But I'm sure Kovy will bounce.

just an update,

hnidy played his first game as a predator tonight, and logged pretty big minutes do to eaton leaving early with back spasms. i personally was VERY impressed. plays with an edge, as advertised...but surprisingly good at moving the puck as well, and surprised osgood with a couple of quick blasts from the point. made a couple huge hits. seemed to fit right in, and is a HUGE upgrade over allison(we had hoped for slight)

Valeri Bure was awesome. He's developed instant chemestry with Modano and Lehtinen. He's so fast and just oozes with skill. One game, but I'm impressed.

Therien was what I expected, horrible. But again, only one game.

Ottawa did a nice job shutting down Iggy but the new guys for the Flames were too hard to handle on this night.

4-2 Flames

Ville Niemenen with 2G 1A in 2 games.
Marcus Nilson with 2G in 2 games.
Chris Simon with 0G 0A in 3 games.

Simon has been playing pretty good just not burying his chances, Lalime absolutely robbed him last night.

The Flames new crew is looking very good. They actually have depth even without McAmmond, Gelinas & Reinprecht.

Garfield - I thought Simon scored on his first game as a Flame? IN fact, I'm almost sure of it.

i saw that. he didn't so much "score" as he was credited with a puck that went off a defenseman in front of him. the announcers said, "well, good, give it to the new guy"

At first glance, it looked as though Simon chipped it in but Conroy's pass was re-directed by Foote right into the net. They later changed the goal to Conroy's big 4th of the year. Simon made the goal happen as Foote was trying to stop the puck from reaching him. So he caused a goal for us, I guess that's a good thing, he's also creating some room for Iggy & Conny out there.

I love the Flames new acquisitions, especially Niemenen !! Sutter really knows how to get players that will make the transition seemless.

Well, update:

Nylander had 3 assists last night.

Also myth about Gonchar's inability is just that myth.

Sanderson with a the GWG and an assist.
Rucinsky with a goal and an assist.

the two of them and the subtraction of Bertuzzi has completely changed the Canucks. they are no longer a traffic team, and play a speed and finess game.

Sanderson: 2GP 2G 1A 3PTS
Rucinksy: 2GP 1G 1A 2PTS

You should check out the LA IR. Working on the most lost mins for a team ever! Perhaps not as high-profile losses though.

Salo is expected to make his first start against PHX on Sunday in Denver.

Gratton and Vaananen have been OK. Granato is using Gratton on a line with Barnaby and Kariya in his first two games. Its also no coincidence that since the trades Selanne has been scratched in both.

Barnaby has made the biggest impact so far. He got into a scrap with Moreau in the Edmonton game and had a PP goal and an assist in the last game against PHX. Barnaby is easily John Kelly's newest favorite Av.

Marcus Nilson, Ville Nieminen, and Chris Simon have the three goals for the Flames tonight. Nieminen has a three game goal streak and Nilson has three goals in two games.
