You'd have to add in propects to get Kovalev, Cole isn't near his level. Considering everyone knows Kovalev steps it up in the playoffs Habs could get a much better return from another team than Cole. You certainly aren't getting Higgins with him for those spare parts.

Your Right on some points but Cole brings you a power forward that the habs need since the team is abit on the small side

Times have changed. I'm still thinking that Gainey has something big up his sleeve and he'll want to reload on picks/prospects to compensate for what he'll have to give up in his next big move...
