I assume Sergei and Gainey talked. Sergei wasn't happy and didn't think he deserved to go.

That is "refusing"

This is stupid.

Hey guys, a game is on tonight. Let's stop with this nonsense.

I don't understand though how a private talk between Sergei and Gainey would get out like that? What would either have to gain by telling anybody? That seems like ********.

What the hell was really said? This thread has two versions:

#1) Young kids partying demoralized him.

#2) Carbo changing lines demoralized EVERYONE.

#1 is absurd, even if true and #2 is umm... just true?

ummm....

Being disappointed is one thing...

But to refuse and having to be talked into it by the GM?

If true..**** him. Who does he think he is?

I wouldn't be worried about trading him if I was Montreal, I would be more worried about the KHL offering a deal and getting nothing for him.

Kovalev is not blaming everyone else, he have said several times that he needs to change his play. He is just stating the truth.

Make no mistake, at this point it is management versus team.

Comon Dave,I'm not a Carbo supporter but I do remember Carbo benching him earlier in the year because of bad penalties and he didn't stop that **** cause he still takes plenty of lazy ass penalties and turns the puck over like there is no tomorrow and makes fun of Grabovski and guess what little Sergei Grabovski is playing allot better then you this year

I bought a Sergei jersey this summer and man do I ever ****in regret it and it has nothing to do with Carbonneau

Normally i would agree but the team slumping , Bob sitting Kovalev , Begin whining about being scratched ect ect ect clearly indicate that there is something rotten with the team so i wouldn't be surprised if it was true.

Most of the times it is indeed BS and sensationalism but this is serious this time imho.

That's a whole lot of guessing/conjecture or whatever you want to call it. How the hell do you know any of this? There are allegations from more than one source of Sergei partying way too much...if this is true, combined with his extremely poor play (which is unquestionable)....it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why he was sent down.

Now, if he was a model professional off and on the ice...and at least played reasonably well on the ice....then I can see him questioning being sent down - since the opposite is/appears to be true....this punk should shut the hell up and work on improving on his game and his dedication as a professional representative of the Montreal Canadiens.

Alright, so what's new of all of this?

Seriously... Young rich and famous kids party. A wannabe superstar is crying and blaming others, and is angry at the line shuffling (BIG news..)
BTW there is no mention of Sergei in the article, but, as others pointed out, do you really think he'd been happy to go to Hamilton.

Either way it's well deserved in both cases...

I just don't see Sergei as a long time member of the Habs. he would have to be in a top 6 role to be truly effective. yet there are elements to his game that are lacking and he is not overly physical either. he does have lots of trade value.

I think he is traded sometime within the next 2 years.

What's the source and what's the exact story- That Sergei refused to report, threatened to refuse to report, considered refusing to report, discussed refusing to report.

Or is the story that he argued against being sent down, but accepted the GM's orders and reported. Cause as far as I know there's no media saying he's not reporting.

What Kovy says about other players doesn't explain his own failure to lead by example.

Stories always get distorted.
There's no way De Foy is directly linked to Gainey or Kostitsyn. So this ''story'' was cut by at least 1 person and I'd be surprised if it's a direct link, so..it's probably more than just 1person.

I'm pretty sure what happened was Sergei saying ''No, I don't want to go back to AHL'' , which is a normal reaction and then Gainey reassured him.

The story was then distorted as it was filtered by 1-2-3person before reaching Marc De Foy.

This is BS.

Exactly.

How the **** would anybody knows this? I guess Sergei looking pissed off in the hallway = refusing to report.

But if it somehow is true, he seriously needs a punch in the brain.
