L’Artiste précise qu’il ne serait pas surpris d’être échangé. Une chose est certaine toutefois, il refuse de poursuivre sa carrière avec le Canadien la saison prochaine.

...and if you read that article carefully, you realize he said no such thing. They're citing a blog that cited an anonymous friend. This being journalistic code for "we made this up."

So last night, Gainey said that all the options are open. Today they're close.

How about TSN also having a blast about it and just trying to discredit anything that comes from Montreal? This can't be happening?

McKenzie is saying BG is getting calls on Kovy and replying with "he is not on the market".

And don't believe Kovy is ragging on his teammates. Thats complete bs!!

Its so easy for any scum off the streets to make a juicy story about Kovy and all you haters are so gullible that you actually believe everything you hear.

Gainey said that all options are possible, read: If we can't find a way to get Kovy going, we might trade him at the trade deadline, so i'm telling the truth, all options are possibles.

It's not about TSN discriditing the Montreal media (even if this is what they are doing), it's about Kovalev talking personnaly to Dregger.

So you actually think TSN displayed a fabricated quote and said it was from Kovalev?

I think that maybe it's time for Kovy to leave, 'cause after the first period, i can tell you that AKost is ready for a bigger role on this team!

And I just posted a whiny post about Kovalev being gone in another thread. I hope all is well and the UFAs resign.

They didn't say options were closed, they said they're going to see how he responds before they make a move.

Strangely I don't really hate him but if that's what you want to believe, so be it. But of course athletes never lie. I've never heard an athlete denying something that eventually ended up being true. Never happened.

And actually, what is there to hate about what he said? That the kids are partying and that Carbo is stupid to change his lines so much. What does the Kovalev hate have anything to do with this?

Seems to me that if it's true, that they're not going to move him yet, Gainey made that move solely to get his team going, and playing Kovalev this Saturday and for upcoming games could only happen so to let other teams believe that everything is fine now and that it's in order to get his value up. A lot of damage control is happening as of now.

The matter of fact is this: we won't know if Kovalev will be back until his skates are on the ice during an NHL game.

Is it likely that he will be traded: No! Montreal are not sellers and are not going to trade one of their top point producers just because they're having a hard time right now. Kovalev has motivation issues but has more skills than most players in the NHL (remember the all-star game?)

I'm pretty sure on Saturday, Kovalev will have a drive to play again and will build momentum for the rest of the season and will be a major contribution to whatever success Montreal is going to have in the playoffs this year.

how would kovalev know if he's getting traded? If you talked to Dan Boyle he would have said "no I'm not going anywhere" then gets traded a few days later. Of course Kovy is going to say he doesn't want to get traded, or doesn't think he will be traded and if he comes out and says "yeah I'm getting traded" that would be a bigger cluster**** than it is now.

Or the Habs saw all the articles about Kovy leaving and told him to do that. Seriously, how can anything be trusted? This isn't high school, this is a business. I don't trust any of it until it happens.

Kovalev plays like crap and is being his selfish former-self, most posters gang up on him.

Montréal media members put out articles on the situation, posters gang up on them.

Dreger puts out an article on the subject, his word is gold and all the local media can suck it.

The HF Habs board at his very best!
