Audette: "Probably my last game in Montreal"

http://www.rds.ca/hockey/chroniques/...N404F86E8.html

Quote:

Can I ask my fellow Habs fans who will attend the game a favor?

Please... please don't boo him. Please. I know he didn't do much with the Habs, but... c'mon.

why would we boo him ? I mean, the guy had his arm cut and didn't fully recover, not his fault. Nobody is gonna boo him, don't worry. Way to go Donald

You mean to tell me that I should just throw out the 20 foot banner and that I let a squid rot in my appartment for 1 month for absolutely nothing? Plus I had trained my 1 year old cousin to say "boo" specially for this event. He sure will be disappointed. How do you tell a 1 year old kid that he won't be able to realize his dream? How I ask you!

Yup, I loved the guy even if he didn't do much for us. I was one of the people that wanted him gone, but because it was better for the habs to let him go. But even if people don't want to see what he did for us that is fine, but when we jump on his back for sucking, it's ridiculous. I can only imagine what I would do if I had that injury done too me. Too come back was just incredible, but was WAY overshadowed by Koivu.

I always wanted Audette in MTL when he was a sabre. He would've been a great 2nd line winger if he didn't cut his arm.

I just want to warn you guys, that Audette might be booed... If some idiots found a way to boo Koivu, anything's possible!

Well, let's at least remember his contribution before the injury and in the playoffs two seasons ago. Theo, Audette, Kilger and Souray all stepped it up, and I appreciated his efforts. The injury was just too much and rendered a decent career over prematurely. He came, he tried, he came up short (hehe).

Enjoy life after hockey, Donald!!

I wonder how an injury to his arm reduced his ability to skate on the backcheck?

Yeah, I wonder the same thing. I've got no sympathy for Donald. He wouldn't re-adjust his salary so that we could afford to keep him or afford to trade him. We're still paying him while he plays with Florida and we're still going to pay if he sits at home the year afer (and there is no lock-out).

That's exactly what I thought.

I can almost guarantee he will be booed. I personally don't think he should be, but in a city that boo's their captain, their longest serving player, the american national anthem, the beer guy if the beer is a little warm, their grandma if they don't like the socks she knit them, what makes you think Audette wouldn't be booed.

Poor Donald.. remember his first few games before he almost lost his hand (remember how he got a tripping penalty on the play too? ) he was incredible.. after that injury how could habs fans expect him to play the same? He did okay in the playoffs.. and he was in extreme pain no doubt.. its good to see most habs fans on this board agree with that.. I feel bad because of course there will be a bunch of fans at the game tonight who wont..

Go Donald

Let it rot for another month, so it'll be nice and ripe for the playoffs.

Right.

Float that idea by Patrice Brisebois.

Wasn't Claudette a healthy scratch recently, several times??? I don't think he will be a factor, but that being said we all know only too well how ex-habs have done against us in the past.

I don't respect him. He look like a guy who is on drug. Everything seems alright to him. This guy is soft and he don't have caracter. Une vrai moumoune!

Don't tell me that because of his injury he can't produce anymore. The problem is not his wrist, it's all his body who is aging.

That might be true but it is not a reason to boo a player. Only in Toronto would such a classless act be done.
