Assuming none of the big contracts are moved, predict next years roster.
Here's my guess.

Dubi Drury Avery
Korp Anisimov Calli
Shoe Betts Orr
Voros

Staal Rosi
Redden Girardi
Mara Reitz
Sangs

sangs wont be a 7th dman, it would be better for him to get top minutes in the ahl, rather then little minutes in the nhl

One of Gomez or Rozsival will almost certainly be gone. So my answer is only God knows

Naslund Gomez Dubinsky
Avery Drury Zherdev
Korp Anisimov Callahan
Byers Betts Orr

Redden Girardi
Staal Hal Gill?
Mara Sauer

I most certainly believe that Rozsival will be gone but have no idea who he will be replaced by -pretty weak UFA defense group again. I'd love to see either Sanguinetti or Del Zotto next year -but it's unlikely.

No matter how little cap space we have, I dont think we go through a whole offseason without a single UFA signing. I just dont think that happens

With 5 UFA and 9 RFA There's going to be a lot of changeover, it's impossible to predict right now.

Too soon, I need something to think about over the summer. Besides with the trade deadline, the draft, and free agency period, all yet to come, soooooo much can change and I hope a decent amount does.

I hope Prucha gets traded to a team in our division, has a HUGE year, even bigger then his first year, then beats us with a GWG in the second round of the play offs to knock us out.

Naslund - Gomez - Zherdev
Dubinsky - Drury - Callahan
Korpikoski - Anisimov - FA/Kid
Voros/Byers - Betts - Orr

Staal - Rozsival
Redden - Girardi
Mara - Potter/Sanguinetti/Sauer
FA

Hank
Valliquette

Thoughts of getting rid of Gomez, Drury, or Redden's contracts are just pipe dreams.

Have to agree. In this economy and with the thoughts that the cap might go down in a year or so. And if they did deal one of those contracts they would certainly take contracts back.

I'm thinking we're going to have to get rid of Rozsival to resign Zherdev and Dubinsky.

Next year's team will look almost identical to this year's roster. That's why this year is not really a "transition" year. Every year will be a "transition" year until one of the big contracts expires or is moved.

It just sucks because we desperately need at least 1 top 6 winger. It scares me that we may have an offense this horrible for years to come...

This.

Anisimov and maybe Sanguinetti will probably be the only additions of note. Maybe a minor UFA.

Sad, isn't it?

I think you would be able to count on one hand the teams that would take Gomez, then you have his 3 teams he names so you really are limited.

The one team i think would make good trading partners to get rid of Gomez would be Nashville but i would think they may be one of the teams Gomez wouldnt be interested in going too.

Next year i think we will be watching the same team give or take a few youngsters.
