Picking your team's or your rival's 4th line fighter can't be what the OP meant for this thread (can it?). Every fan base cheers their goon.

Historically for the Canucks it would be Harold Snepsts and Gino Odjick. Not really anybody on the current edition who would meet that criteria. Maybe Rick Rypien if he could stay healthy for longer than 2 periods.

Jim Dowd was pretty well liked by flyer fans, as well as in the locker room I heard. Heart kind of player, who just happened to have an awesome stache.

I have to agree. People are comparing him to CAM NEELY for God's sake.

Great guy, outstanding fighter/hitter with some offensive potential. But not Cam Neely. No how, no way.

Yeah, Brash has earned his paycheck this year even if he hadn't fought once. Brads is a character guy who brings little to the table other than guts.

But honestly, for the Sharks, it's Jonathan Cheechoo. Whatever skill he had is gone AND he's never been able to skate well.

AND Jody Shelley, but as we all know, post-lockout, there is no need for enforcers. That role has been completely replaced and taken over by the pest/agitator.

1. Brashear has tons more skills than Bradley.
2. Matt Bradley has referred to himself as a "fan-favorite" on multiple occasions. The two the jump out at my mind were after he won the never ending shootout against Edmonton last year, and after he got the 10th goal against Boston for his first career PP goal last year.

Another one for SJ is Goc. Such stone hands, love him. He'd be my avatar picture if not for the sexy that is Semenoff.
Goc isn't a fan favorite [except that one game when a whole group of people had these blue shirts that read "Rock out with your Goc out"], is in the top ten in the NHL in faceoff %, and is regarded as one of the best PK'ers on the Sharks. So how is he the least talented Shark, or a fan favorite, or the least talented fan favorite?

That's fair, but my problem with putting Brads in this category is I don't think he's all that loved by the regular fans. Us HF super fans may appreciate him (some of us don't), but I'm not that convinced he's all that popular with your average STH.

I think he's popular with pretty much anyone that keeps up with the media, including the Caps' in-game stuff. The "pimp my ride," the "Dr. Bradley," etc. is all because he's such a personality and the fans like it.

I don't know, maybe it's not as widespread as it seems, but how are we supposed to quantify it? He's clearly a fan-favorite among the message board/blogging community, and he's THE self-proclaimed fan-favorite of the team, so he fits this perfectly.

Those who's preference for fan-favorite can't be counted don't matter.
