Where's the fun in that?

I say pick a team that is young and struggling right now.. The payoff will be greater.

Long-time Red Sox fans probably had more fun after winning 1 world series than New York fans would if the Yanks won 4 in a row.

Go for the hometown team...EDMONTON!

- First Brittish-born and raised player to be drafted into the NHL (Tony Hand) was taken by Edmonton in the 1986 draft.

- Canadian team, member of the commonwealth.

- ...

that's all I got.

Whatever you do, don't pick the Islanders. You'll become empty inside.

Belak isn't with Toronto anymore, but I think your criteria for choosing the Leafs is pretty good.

That's why I was pitching the CBJ. Because we've felt what you just described over the last few years & now it seems to finally be paying off.

Don't pick a canadian team, they all fail when it comes to the playoffs.

Boston-Lucic,Savard and thomas are some of my favourite players
You might want to take into account the time difference too. Maybe an East Coast team would work better for your schedule in terms of watching games?

San Jose
Detroit
Boston

If you're looking to support a team with Connections to the Mob
Montreal (You'll get your legs broken if you don't choose them)

If you're looking to support a team with a lot of history (The Original 6 teams).
Boston (ewww)
Toronto (i suggest u dont)
NY Rangers
Chicago
Detroit

If you're looking for consistant good performing teams every year:
Detroit
New Jersey
San Jose (Regular season only)

If you're looking for a team with very passionate and loyal fans base that will sell out even if the team is doing bad:
Montreal
Toronto
Calgary
Edmonton
Vancouver
NY Rangers
Philadelphia
Minnesota

If you're looking for a team with exciting young superstars:
Atlanta - Kovalchuk
Washington - Ovechkin HM: Semin, Backstrom, Green
Pittsburgh - Malkin, Crosby
Detroit - Datsyuk, Zetterberg HM: Hossa
Philadelphia - Richards HM: Carter
Tampa Bay - Lecavalier HM: St-Louis

If you like cheering for underdog teams who give a 110% effort every game:
Florida
Columbus
Los Angeles

If you would like to cheer for my team.....
Montreal Canadiens, Go Habs Go!!!

But still. Watch these teams play and see which 1 team you just can't get enough of.

Picked the Leafs? Your funeral...

It's like someone who's just getting into the EPL picking Queen's Park Rangers as their club, mate.

Who should i support and why?The best answer will be the team i will support!!
What about buying an NHL-game on PS3 or PC. Play games with different teames, and decide 3-4 teams you could start watching in real life.

The San Jose Sharks, if you want to follow the best team in the NHL (Games in hand over the Bruins and head to head, sorry) that is also a team that in the US gets no coverage whatsoever because they play what was once a "non-traditional" market (Although they do play in the #4 US Media Market) and because of the East Coast Bias.

Really? Is that how the NHL calculates the standings? I think my computer must be broken then:

Columbus Blue Jackets--

Best young goalie in the league and a load of excellent young players in the cupboard. They are on track for a huge upswing in their existence.
