Passionate fans
o and ryan hollweg

Have i commited myself to a lifetime of heartache?
Let's just say there are about 27 teams I would have suggested rooting for before I got to the Leafs.

The Penguins. They are the most fun to watch when they are on their game. Two of the five best players in the game on the same team for the next 5 years at least, and one of the most athletic goalies in the game. The surrounding talent needs to improve, but even on a bad day Malkin and Crosby are going to do something breath taking.

what other sports do you like? do you liek any teams other than your home team? why?

probably casue you watched them play, and they excited you in one way or another, maybe a specific player, maybe the way they play as a team.

you're not gonna be able to have a favorite team handed to you because, once you actually watch the game something in your gut is gonna have you rooting for someone. follow that gut feeling, and watch some damn games you "fan"

Could you imagine the opportunity to pick a favorite team, with no strings attached, and quickly deciding on the Maple Leafs? Some people are just gluttons for punishment, I guess...

Can you watch NHL games either online or on TV there? If so, then just start watching the games...maybe you'll find you like one teams style of player or a particular player more so than the others and you'll start rooting for that team.

I'm a huge fan, and also love the , but I can tell you that , and are three of the most exciting teams to watch in the NHL...you can't go wrong with Alexander Ovechkin!

Not Boston.

This isn't how Bruins fans are made.

Use youtube. Go watch some Bobby Orr, Cam Neely, Ray Bourque, Ken Linesman, and Phil Esposito clips.

Once done, watch some clips of Zdeno Chara, Tim Thomas, Phil Kessel, David Krejci and Milan Lucic.

If you aren't a Bruins fan by then, you aren't a Bruins fan period.

Good luck with that.

Support the Canucks if you like pain. There are way too many hair pulling things that this team does every year with different players. I don't get it.

Young western team.

Chicago, Kings, Blue Jackets are all good choices.

Also try to find a game with an announcer you like. I've watched plenty of games with teams mentioned and the annoucers is what killed me. Try to find a non-homer announcer.

Good luck man.

I actually went through this very same problem as I recently have gotten really into the EPL. I didn't want to root for a big-4 team because I don't like frontrunners, so I just started supporting Portsmouth because they had my favorite player (Jermain Defoe). Then he was transferred to Spurs, and now I don't know what to do.

That said, after watching a ton of games on TV, I think I've decided to be a Barca/LA Liga fan. That team is just too fun to watch, and I'm willing to throw my no-frontrunner criteria out the window.

As for the question here, if you're still wavering on the Leafs, don't settle on the Rangers. They're boring and faceless, and going nowhere fast.

You have made a wise and virtuous decision.

Its not fun picking a team like Washington, San Jose or Anaheim. Especially if you plan on visiting. Hockey doesnt really register outside of the arena in most American cities.

The Maple Leafs are like the Manchester United of hockey (minus all the success )
