You aren't going to win many games scoring just one goal, especially when you've got the goals-against machine d-pair on your team.

If that effort was there for 3 periods, who knows what the outcome would have been? Pitiful.

I like how now that they don't suck the .500 mark is considered wins vs. total losses whereas earlier in the year it was considered wins vs. regulation losses.

Pretty sure most of us thought that as well. Just didn't want to admit it.

Please bring on CGY in the playoffs.

So we can officially call it?

The Chicago Blackhawks are our new Detroit Red Wings?

Yes, until we find a way to match their speed with something they are hte new Wings. Hell, this season could have been a fluke and we'll just have nearly the entire central with our number. St Louis kills us, CBJ is always tough, Detroit has historically kicked our *****, now Chicago. We all have a hating relationship with Nashville and we have a hard time with them when we're on the road.

I guess just be glad we aren't in the central, although SJ might make us feel otherwise in the next couple of weeks.

For those keeping track, Sydor has been on the ice for seven of the last 13 goals against and six of the last seven PK goals against. (The two only overlap somewhat - the Stars have given up two PK goals in the last four games, the period of time the 13 goals cover).

Can't Grossman and Fistric go on the PK in Sydor/Niskanen's place please?

well atleast that's Chicago done for the season.. the only really tough team left on our schedule is San Jose.. and possibly Phoenix seeing how Dallas has played them this season.

Dallas will probably be 7th in the conference in winning percentage at the end of the night, Columbus and Vancouver both have easy match-ups they should win. I guess we can hope that Detroit beats Minnesota and Calgary beats Edmonton later on tonight..

Honestly I think we could do well against any of the top 3 seeds.. I just have a feeling that one of Detroit or San Jose is going to have a major let down in the 1st round and possibly lose - I'm leaning towards Detroit and their terrible goaltending at the moment.

I just really don't want to play ****ing Chicago again this season.

Stars :: Chicago
Anaheim :: Stars

Our style of play simply does not work against theirs. The only way around it is to have a lethal power play, and well, that's not happening.

I never got a chance to see this game. Can someone fill me in?

Was there no effort again? Did we get outplayed? Did the Stars play more defense instead of offense even though they were down 2 goals?

Just couldn't get anything done offensively until it was too late.

Not sure why, but the Hawks bring out the worst in Dallas this year.

That was a pretty exciting game there! Your guys were pretty physical, and Turco did make some great saves as well.

Good luck the rest of the season, and it would be great to see your guys at the United Center for Game 1 of the playoffs!

Take that back, this Stars team wants nothing to do with the Hawks in the playoffs.

Unless it's the semis, I guess.

Yea, maybe that'll happen! Maybe your guys could go and upset Detroit, and then we'll have a date in May. In the NHL playoffs, anything can happen. That's what makes the Stanley Cup Playoffs the most interesting tournament in sports.

well...
Columbus lost to the Anaheim
LA lost to Phoenix
Vancouver going to OT with Toronto
Minnesota leading Detroit 4-1

so it's not all bad tonight, if Toronto can pull out the extra point it would be pretty good considering the Stars got dominated today, they really wouldn't lose much ground. Was almost writing in a Wings win though so thats disappointing.

Canucks win in a shootout, Sundin netting the winner.
