I'd think the Isles will try to flip McAmmond to a playoff contender for a pick

Just my $.02, but I'd think it was an asset management deal. OTT desperately needs a d-man that can move the puck, and SJ's 1st rounder is 29th overall. That's probably a 25% chance of turning into a solid NHL'er, and if you're lucky enough for that happening, the guys not contributing until 2013.

Wouldn't surprise me if OTT then moves Comrie at the deadline, unless they go on a huge tear here over the next two weeks which seems really unlikely with Alfy out. If they can get a 2nd round DP for Comrie, they would have gotten Campoli for McCammond (aka - nothing) and dropping back 20-30 spots in the draft.

Who needs "the legion of Leaf fans" when we've got you posting the same thing in every thread?

Better for the Leafs.

Sens probably won't be in a position of a lottery pick soon

Think again.

I guess Ottawa is going for that 8th seed. With the recent slippage of Monteral and NY...I guess they have hope.

Ha. Yeaaahhh.

They don't. This is the problem. Kohn is a few years away, Kactic is also a few years away. They have Hillen up now, but he's not anything truley special.

Witt is next to go, I'm sure. He's had it with the Islanders, his play is deteriorating. He doesn't have a spot in our future.

Hmm.. maybe the Islanders are going to pick Hedman afterall?

Maybe they want Komisarek?

We're all but confirming 30th place!

San Jose's first is gonna be around 25th overall, not 29th or 30th.

Why'd we deal back for Comrie... didn't Murray let him go once before and piss him off in the process?
And Campoli for a 1st? Are we dealing out Kuba for a 1st+more?

Am I the only one who thinks the Isles lost this deal?

They lost a capable centre, and a great defenseman for McAmmond and a pick that could be anywhere from 25-30

I initially thought it was their first rounder.

It's still a confusing move.

Comrie played some of his best hockey in Ottawa plus now Senators fans get to see both Carrie Underwood and Hilary Duff at their games.

Hmmm not sure how I feel about this as its really SJ's 1st for Campoli when all is said and done. Sens need to move a d-man or two but we will see. Sens fans have always liked Comrie hopefully he will resign with us.

Great defenseman? Man the hyperbole is coming out today.

This is an average move for the Islanders. It certainly solidifies their position as the worst team in the league, thus ensuring they have the highest odds to draft Tavares.

Campoli is a "great defensmen?" Are you talking about CHRIS Campoli?

I like Campoli and think he has nice upside. But, great?

I think Ottawa didn't have to give up a 1st rounder for a guy like Campoli...

Should have just signed Comrie in last off-season if you always liked him

Does it means that the Sens will trade Spezza, Fisher or Vermette? Now they have 4 really decent centers.

Last time I saw him, he was playing great. Unless he really let himself go in that time.

EDIT: Leave it to the posters to think I meant great, as in one of the best....
