Both teams have significant injuries. You guys missing two Top-6 forwards, and us two Top-4 defenseman to speak of some.
um, Pouliot is definately NOT playing tonight. I would assume either Jaques or Reddox draws in over that marshmallow known as Poo.

I thought the Oilers fans were saying he was gonna outscore Glencross this year?

There was a thread on Oilers board awhile back with various fans betting about who would get the most points. The thread got renamed "betting thread?" I believe and involved other bets etc. It should be on their board somewhere.

see page three of the oiler site and they have a betting thread...it starts off Glencross and "Poo" but does go on to mention others. Glencross became a flame and that started many people to either be upset about it or say good riddance. Some felt the kid had played his best as an oiler and was now going to flop. Some said they would regret letting him go.....

No, Glencross' play was merely because he had Brodziak as a centre.

But, alas! I am merely going about my new practice of pre-game ribbing.

It was definitely a minority view, mostly pushed by one of our regular posters. Most of us disagreed with him, but I give him credit for backing his comments up with a bet. Pouliot looks like late round pick trade bait at best these days, and may be as bad as a waiver write-off. He is capable of racking up some points with good linemates, but lacks the fire of a Glencross.

Oiler management got star struck in the pointless pursuit of Marion Hossa & fneglected to take care of business by signing Glencross. It's not about who you almost got, it's about who you did get. It wasn't a good move by the Oilers.

Some did, but a generalization doesn't work here. In fact, I'd say that MOST Oilers fans have been awaiting the inevitable: that by season's end Glencross's point tally and performance would make management regret the oversight.

There's something about Glencross and Calgary - he either destroys you when playing against you (in particular as a Jacket), or he inspires you when playing for you, as seen this year with Cowtown.

You jest re: MacIntyre, but recall how it was him alone that turned the tide against the Flames earlier this year. The question this time will be whether his presence means more inspiration and momentum swinging, or being burned on account of his lack of footspeed. And his poor stickwork.

What's up with Roy?

Either way I am glad Lowe was GM then and in yet another moment of mediocrity lead to a heck of a steal for Sutter. Glencross has been a great acquisition.

Roy banged his head on the ice after his last fight vs. Vancouver

MacIntyre's in. Someone should goon up Hemsky, and then that big oaf will probably take a stupid penalty trying to attack him. Phaneuf seems to be quite hated, and I would like to see him do it.

I feel like a Flames win tonight, I'm thinking Phaneuf gets a goal, either the game tying goal, or the GWG.

Either way, I want the Oilers to be smashed.

You're probably right - about the first part.

With Roy out I can't see the real benefit of dressing MacIntyre. No "neutralization" in that manner is necessary. MacT should likely dress JFJ instead, another middleweight, who can skate and stick handle far better than MacIntyre. The more he's prepped for policing, the more inclined he'll be to be watched by the refs and in turn, take the penalty you suggest.

Regardless of its form, I figure there WILL be some smashing going on tonight... if not by fists, then by hits. If not by hits, then via ego by one team handing it to the other on the scoresheet. I suspect we'd differ on which team is best handed said humiliation.

I'm thinking this will be a close one rather than a humiliation.

Hope the Flames take this one. Winning a few with these injuries will let the guys prove to each other they can win even when some big players are out.

Leafs lost.

Wild won, as did Anaheim. Here's to hoping the Flames win in regulation.
