Big George Laraque's impact

Does anyone know where you can find a statistic (without going through each of our boxscores) of what our record is with BGL in our lineup and without? I bet the difference is night and day.

I was all for the signing when it happened last July but I really think we play much tougher as a team without him in the lineup. Not to mention that our 4th line is much more effective without him.

I'm beginning to wonder if they might be able to dump him at the deadline, but his contract is going to be a tough pill for another team to take.

I'm pretty sure he's got a no-trade clause.

25 games played
10 victories
10 losses
5 OT losses

We've lost 8 of the last 10 games he played

Yeah let's blame a 4th liner who plays 5 min. a game

What's your point?

He's not a difference maker and it goes both ways... Unfortunately for him, he returned from injury right before the slump and it's certainly not his fault we're slumping... That's called a sophism my friend, look it up on google.

Not necessarily blame him, but what purpose does a guy serve who only plays 5 minutes a game?

He is not useful to us, Begin is far more useful.

He was stuck playing in the recent slump... and in some of these games, he played better hockey than most of the Top-6 guys.

He's not helping his line and he's not helping his team. We're much better with a reliable and effective 4th line. Today's goal by Dandy was absolutely HUGE! With BGL on that line, it's doubtful the 4th line scores.

The record with and without BGL tells us a lot.

His dumb penalties and being a liability to his line were factors in our slump. I like BGL but we're a better team without him.

Chips, Dandy, and Stewart made a big difference today.

he was doing a good job with the media....we need him back on the injury reserve so he can focus on what he was brought in for.

We just have to use him wisely. You dont want your best players to get run at when we have a lead. We seem tougher but its because the other teams are roughing us up a bit more when he's not there....so we react and you're right we are more in the games in those situations.
I still say we need him against those Bruins, Flyers etc games. I dont think he wasnt playing well......

Wait! BGL has had an impact?? I missed that part, I guess. As much as I like the tougher side of hockey, I don't think BGL has done much in the few games he's played.

First period fight followed by... a dissappearing act. He's the Kovalev of enforcers!

Then why have you started a thread if you were absolutely convinced of your opinion?

Because I was hoping someone could provide some hard evidence to confirm that our record was significantly worse with BGL in the lineup (which someone did confirm). I know anecdotally, we've certainly played worse.

Let's wait until the end of the season/playoffs. We never know. he could wake up...

If nothing happens, then...

Maybe BGL is pissed off by the behaviour of the youngsters outside the ice.
