Briere?

Seriously, the guy has mad skill.

22 G 30 A 52 PTS in 30 GP vs Philly. After his rookie year, .731 winning % vs Philly.

It's hard to tout Downie as a guy you love yet criticize Sid's character, no?

A guy that goes over the edge in physicality and emotion v. a guy that plays the sport with zero integrity?

Man, talk about apples and oranges.

Forward Danny Briere continued to skate with his teammates on Monday, as the Flyers held an 11:00 a.m. practice at their facility in Voorhees, New Jersey. Briere said that while he is possible to play in Wednesday's home game against the Kings, it is more likely he will make his return on Friday night at the Wachovia Center against the Montreal Canadiens.

FlyersTV: Briere - Feb. 23 | Stevens - Feb. 23

“Wednesday is still a possibility at this point, but we’re focusing more on Friday," he said. "There is a bigger chance I’ll be in the lineup on Friday.”

Also today, Jeff Carter skated for a portion of practice but left the ice early. He had to leave Sunday's Flyers Wives Fight for Lives Carnival after feeling ill, but Stevens said he fully expects Carter to be in the lineup on Tuesday night in Washington (7:00 p.m., Comcast SportsNet).

Antero Niittymaki will be in net tomorrow night, while Martin Biron will start against Los Angeles on Wednesday at the Wachovia Center.

Roster news - Forwards Josh Gratton and Jonathon Kalinski were both reassigned to the Philadelphia Phantoms today.

Briere's comments make me think something's still bothering him.

Likewise. I'm still not convinced about his health and longevity of play this season. I said this when I heard he was going under the knife weeks ago. I'm not 100% sure he's coming back until I see.

One of these, 'seeing is believing' type things.

he hasnt played since December 2nd. I think with everything he has gone thru this season, he probably wants to be a bit cautious in what he says on his health. He might feel better then what he is saying.

Could just be pre-return jitters. I know after my concussions I was kind of off and played more conservative until about 2 periods were done, he might be having the same just because he's had 3 injuries so far and is worried about it again. And like you said he's probably not 100% anyway.

Yeah, I know. He has been thru a fair bit...can't fault him in the least for being cautious. I'd be the same. I just fear he's not quite ready, and if that's the case...were going down the same road.

I hope not.

Hopefully that's just it. Does anybody know why he's not going to play a few games for the Phantoms...not allowed?

Also, concussions suck. I've had a few myself playing hockey. Hope you're symptom free and there aren't any side effects.

Been good so far! I'm keeping to open hockey sessions though for now because it's less contact and more cost effective than leagues! (Voorhees Skatezone charges $475 for a 20 game season, when I was in NY I got a 20 game season for $250)
