Lets put things in to context.
The team won 3 games in 15 or something. Just played 3 solid games in a row although they only won 1. Things are turning around one step at a time. Besides 22 of these shots came in the 3rd period where the team spent most of the period short handed including a couple of 5 on 3's
Yes but... these aren't solid foundations to build on to put together a nice finish to the season.
the next 2 games will show us all if this team is for real or just a pretender.
van @ home...no excuses, if we believe to be a contender..we are at home against a playoff caliber team who is hot, we must win
@ phi..playing a good team, on the road..seems like a recipe for a loss with the way the habs have been playing...to be honest, even if we lose by 1..we can build off of it. a complete domination where we get doubled in shots will show we are just back to 2 years ago where we cant play good teams on the road. which ultimately means we cant win playoff type games.
Still I think Bob should add a good tall and physical Dman + a top 3 center.
Like some said, we only have the cap space for one, therefore i would go for a physical D. A veteran like Adam Foote would be exactly what we need and shouldnt cost much. The Avs are last in their conference (not out of the playoffs though) and they should look to improve the team for next year. Unless Foote has a no-trade clause i hope we target him.
