Chicago and Ottawa

Well, I don't know what you guys think but this is a good trade IMO.

I am not a fan of either team so IDK but tell me what you think

To Chicago: Kuba, Spezza

To Ottawa: Byfunglin, Sharp, Barker

What do you guys think?

Really? If they really want to rebuild they need to get rid of Spezza with that 7 yrs left.

I think Ottawa takes it in the butt badly...

if Chicago wants Spezza they'll have to part with Sharp + Baker + Veersteg + pick IMO.

Well, this was my friends proposal and he sent it in to sportsnet in toronto and they said it was a good trade except Chicago would then have to very good 1st line ceters

Ottawa does not want to rebuild, and Byfulien's contract is way worse than Spezza.

Excellent proposal. A bit lopsided in favor of Ottawa, but hey, you gotta give to get, right?

Then Sportsnet doesn't have any idea what they're talking about.

The bigger issue would be Ottawa having ZERO 1st liner centers. Funny how that gets missed, huh?

I see you made a proposal for Spezza. Toews or GTFO.

Spezza is a good player and there is no doubt that Chicago needs another centre. However if Chicago pick up Spezza they will have too much money locked up in too few players. Chicago picking up Vermette makes much more sense for both teams as Vermette doesn't make an inhibitive amount and Ottawa can afford to lose Vermette.

There is no way Chicago trades Toews for Spezza. Spezza has a good track record in the NHL and he has racked up a lot of points. However this year Toews is outscoring Spezza, his defensive play is significantly better and Toews is a born leader and Chicago's captain.

Well, then the post specified the other option.

Maybe you should read my 1st post responding to the overall deal for my opinion of Chicago getting Spezza.

Ottawa gets boned the chitters. You need to offer more than that or less but better players.

Ermmm... The one that says Chicago wants Vermette? I.E. The one that has nothing to do with how much Chicago will have to give up for Spezza?

Try harder.

No, the one which says in my view Spezza makes too much and would cost too much to acquire to make it a sensible idea for Chicago to trade for him...

Well, Chicago doesn't seem to want to take Spezza's 7-year contract and Ottawa doesn't really want to trade Spezza and his contract for quantity (I'd consider quality but there's very little in this trade).

Spezza's 25, he'd be the prime piece to re-build around.

Besides which, the central piece on the 'Hawks side is Sharp and he's older.

Terrible deal for Ottawa.

that's a great idea!
We should trade our #1 center and one of the best point getters in the game who's signed for 7 years right through his prime.
that way we could free up some cash for the rebuild and go find a #1 center who's around 25 and can put up points with the best in the game...

So if I may make a revised version of the proposal:

To Ottawa:
Spezza

To Chicago:
Sharp
Barker
Byfuglien
