Alex Kovalev

After taking a forced two day rest, he came back with a 3 points effort tonight.

Any teams looking for a veteran winger for their playoffs' push?

Considering that the Sens didn't hesitate to trade their first round pick, I'm convinced that Kovalev can at least that!

No one is going to give up what he is worth to the habs. Maybe a 1st. Maybe.

The Sens didn't trade their first round pick, they traded San Jose's...and there is a huge difference there.

I'd give a second round pick.

why would the canadiens trade Kovalev? are they selling now? you want a first and a prospect? why? they can still compete and make a run

because we have a lot of UFA and RFA still to sign. Komisarek is the next captain...he will stay. We have a lack of good center,,,, Koivu should stay. We have a lot of winger and maybe we doesnt a place for Andrei Kostitsyn in the RW. Kovy takes his place. Andrei gets 5 points in 2 games during the absence of Kovy. Now, we doesnt have enough place for Max Pacioretty and Guillaume Latendresse. In the past we traded Rivet in same position then we got 2 excellents players for: Josh Gorges and 1st pick (Max Pacioretty). Our offensive prospect's bank is empty and the secret in montreal seems to be our scouters.

Kovy isn't going anywhere this year, take that to the bank.

For better or worse, he's our best offensive player, and all that we will get in return for a 36 years old pending UFA is picks so why bother? It will only hurt us in our run this year.

And no, that wasn't to give him more value around the league.

We cant go anywhere with the goalie situation. Price struggles and seems like one of the baddest 1st goalie of the league. Halak is one of the best 2nd, but I dont think he can support us. Playoff is 33% a goalie affair. I think Boston, New Jersey, washington or Philadelphia will destroy us in 1st round

Philadelphia isn't doing much better in the goalie department. Washington... It's still Théodore.

100% reason but remember you than Biron is always superb vs Habs like Vinny and St-Louis in Tampa
but for Washington???? Ovechkin. What they can do in Playoff... still a mystery but im confident about a long run this year. we will see after the deadline if they can bring some help in defense. In fact, Phily and Wash have similar situation.

So you just want to give up on this year. Kovalev is UFA next year, he doesnt affect the cap at all next year. How is your offensive player bank empty. you have pacioretty, dagostini. come on man you cant trade your top forward. i thought that the habs were going to go for it this year.

What have you done for me lately mentality at its best if anyone thinks he's fetching a 1st round pick from any SANE general manager.

Price is only 21, dude.

Anyway, trading our best forward for slim pickings won't do wonders for us anyway.

That would be going under the assumption that all GM's are sain and that none of them are desperate. You should know as your team is desperately trying to make the playoffs after reaching the Cup finals.

I still believe that they'll want to unload his salary to prepare another bigger trade...

I'd love Kovalev here, but no way in Hell for our first.

I dont think trade Kovy means give up. Remember you tahn Latendresse and Tanguay still on the injury list and we doent have the place for all the forwards when they come back. In my book, Andrei Kostitsyn can do the same job or better if we FINALLY gives him a spot on the right wing. Latendresse and Tanguay are LW and we where they will goes... Higgins is with Koivu and do the job welldone and AK46 is with Plekanec. Ww have to do some place a day or an other. Kovalev have maybe the best value on the market.

Pacioretty and Dagostini are already in the team. I talk about our PROSPECTS: Ben Maxwell , Ryan White . Nothing else after (Trunev too young not ready, Perezhogin is KHL for life I think, Kristo still 3 others year in junior)

We have to think for the the future too not only for this year

In talk about Price now.... not in 3 or 4 years. He will be good of course TOP 10 sure for me, but now

For Kovy, remember Rivet. Never say never

But then again, I said it in the previous thread, yet no one seems to listen.

I ask you: Is it logical to trade Kovalev for a 2nd round for us. We go in the playoff too and we bring Schneider for this price. Kovy will go somewhere only if we obtain the value we wish for.
