by gainey's actions the past couple of weeks, and the rumblings that this could be his last stand, he wants to go out with a bang. it will be tough to pull considering our numerous FA's eliminate some possibilites but to think talks have not become or were serious is foolish

WHa??????????!!?!?!?

Gainey ain't goin anywhere. He's made some really great moves this year with the acquisitions of Tanguay, Lang and Schneider. I don't think he's even close to be done as a GM in Montreal. The haters can keep on rambling and mumbling all they want, I don't think either Bob or Carbs are gonna leave any time soon.

"t was written today elsewhere that th Lightning are telling teams who call regarding Vinny and Martin St. Louis that the players are not available. That is 50% correct and I am 100% sure of that, and although Marty isn't likely to be moved this Lightning ownership is focused completely on doing whatever is needed to improve this team."

Just to add fuel to the Eklund fire, he's explaining/defending his e-system and adds the following:

Quote:
So right now the rumors of Lecavalier to Montreal and Lecavalier to the NY Rangers are both e4s. Because they are by definition coming from multiple e3's who have told me that the discussion have occured.

They would if enough went back the other way.

For montreal to land Jay-bo it would cost:

Higgins
S. Kostitsyn
PK Subban
1st or 2nd

I'd say with those players heading back to Florida they'd still be in good shape to make the playoffs...that being said Jay-bo isn't going to Montreal, but i still see it possible for Vinny to land there.

What about trading them Hamrlik? It would help them now (they want to make the playoffs, so it would counterbalance losing Bouw a little. Hammer is also signed for a few more years) and it would help our cap situation to re-sign Bouwmeester.

In the event that there is a grain of truth in this, I wouldn't go for 'J-Bo' unless there was a guarantee by his agent that he would be signed for a multi-year after the trade.

In this case, I'd be willing to part with the Long Island duo. Otherwise, no go, no way, no how.

I think that Martin would jump on a Kovalev + for J-Bo. He's in a playoffs' position looking for a top 6 forward.

It doesn't really matter how asinine his rumors sound. He's already outsmarted the majority of you because you all keep going to his site and bumping up his page hits.

And 25 and a franchise D. If you trade for him and agree to terms on a deal, you think you're getting him for Higgins, Sergei, Subban, and a 1st?
