Flyers Board Prospect Rankings

So lets rank the prospects in our system using the criteria that Hockeys Future uses. Post who you voted for, and then say who should be added in the next poll.

Starting with the first poll, I just will use my best judgment on who to have in the polls. I don't think it will matter much if I left a guy out, because they can just be voted in later.

1. ???

I dont think it will be much different than it was when we did it right before the season started.

I actually voted Giroux, not because I don't believe in JVR, but because I think at this point Giroux's ceiling is pretty damn high. I think its very possible that he can be a 100+ point player someday, he might level off in the 80-90 range, but I think its very possible that he can be a very dominant player offensively in the future.

JVR is just too much of an unknown at this point. His ceiling should be a 100 point player, but I have a feeling he might settle down in the 75-90 range. JVR's size is very nice to have, but I think Giroux would be more valuable, especially with the way he has showed he can hit, play defense, and do some gritty work along the boards...something I don't see JVR doing much of.

I rank:
Giroux
JVR
Sbisa
Parent

And after that I am not sure since I haven't seen most of the players actually play. I'd guess Matsumoto and Maroon are somewhere near the top of the rest. While I really like Nödl, I don't see him having that much of a future in the NHL :/

I'm in the JVR camp, hes getting the Bobby Ryan treatment lately.

Clode, lol.
I voted for JvR.
Hes still unknown to us, I feel like Giroux is stepping out of the prospect column with every game played. We know hes going to be a stud.

Seeing as Giroux is in the poll, I went with him...as he has proven his worth more at this point than JVR.

I will agree though, Giroux is going to good, damn good!

I like JVR a lot having watched him enough up here over the last 2 years but if I had to pick only one of them to keep, it would be Giroux so he gets the nod at # 1 for me.

I went Giroux. I do hope JvR becomes a stud, hence why we picked him 2nd overall. Hopefully he can put up this year's Bobby Ryan numbers. I just love to watch Giroux play though

I was kind of hoping this would be a poll where we rank the posters on this board when I first read the title. That would be kind of fun.

Almost that time for the annual end of year board awards. Is that after the regular season or playoffs?

Oh wow, totally forgot about them. Someone with more time than me will have to go through the archives to find them from last year. I'd say wait until after the playoffs so we have something to talk about during that down time though.

Voted for Giroux. Every time the guy in on the ice I see him do something that seems to amaze me.

of course I clicked on JVR AFTER I saw Giroux in the poll. Maybe I didnt think of him still as a "prospect". If I had the choice to change it now I would go back to Giroux since hes playing and playing pretty well at the NHL level.
Now I am not going to get ahead of myself and start making point predictions for Giroux. I will agree hes is going to be a very good NHL player.
