I don't think it's been made public, but he was signed before the Vrabel/Cassel trade which was when they only had about $3M in cap space.

Looks like Ethan Moreau suffered a potentially very serious eye injury tonight.

CBC says he's en route to the Hospital to check for damage to the eye ball itself.

MacT: He's gone to the hospital, it looks pretty serious. The stick looks like it went...there's a gash right thru the socket....looks like the stick raked across the eye ball.

God, I hope he is ok.

The players should all be forced to play with the shield on.

That sounds ****ing terrible.

In other stick news, is there any truth to a report saying Downie hit a ref with his stick tonight?

I told you, Downie was never going to get his head on straight.

http://theahl.com/headlines/index.html?article_id=9604

He went into the faceoff circle, and slashed the referee in the shin. Automatic 20 game suspension, the guy's a moron.

It's just Milk. Milk in a bag.

Straight up.

I'd guess it's a lot cheaper than producing cartons, and jugs I'd presume are worse for the environment than a thin plastic bag.

I just saw highlights of the Thrashers and Hurricanes, and that game featured some of the worst goaltending I've ever seen. Carolina totally chokes in another big game. Has there ever been a bigger fluke Cup Champ than the Hurricanes?

That doesn't sound good at all. Hopefully it's not as serious as the initial thoughts.

After Dawkins leaving, who do you guys consider the top 5 athletes in Philadelphia? Obviously Dawkins was on the back end of his career these last few years, but still one of the premier athletes cause everything hes done and what he brought to the table. Out of the the four teams, what 5 athletes are the most important to Philadelphia?

Richards
Andre Miller
Chase Utley
Cole Hamels
Donovan McNabb

...in no particular order.

I'm not even going to watch the video. I don't normally have a weak stomach, but eye injuries are different. Bleah. I've seen a guy cut in half and other nasty stuff, and be fine. But an eyeball hanging out or something? Vomit Central.

Just a little of blood around the eye, but the inadvertent slash to the eye makes me think likely eye damage. It was interesting you heard the "ooooooooo" from the crowd a few seconds before the announcers caught it.

Today were local elections where I live and unfortunately the right-wing parties seem to have a clear victory. My parents are sitting in the kitchen and were following it over the radio while discussing it.

Well, the radio just updated the numbers and then they played Never gonna give you up by Rick Astley and for a second I thought "thank goodness, it was just a joke".

Unfortunately not :/

This stinks, i want like a foot of snow. Enough to make all the people who can't drive in snow to actually stay home instead of endangering my life.

Ethan Moreau news...

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=2693...=secStory_main

Quote:
Edmonton Oilers forward Ethan Moreau is back at home the day after suffering a scary eye injury against the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night.

Moreau was hit in his right eye by the stick of the Wild's Antti Miettinen late in the third period. After leaving the ice, Moreau was immediately taken to Royal Alexandria Hospital in Edmonton.

While the real extent of the injury is not yet known, surgery was not required on Saturday night. Doctors will continue to monitor the eye through the week to see if that changes.

There is no indication of how long the 33-year-old will be out.
