How about that power play!

7 for 12 since Schneider got here..

Luck? Or really good?

I'd say we have the talent, we found the missing piece that we all know was missing..

Can we make it even better?

The important is that it's feared again.. Sort of..

Discuss..

we got a shooter. no one respects S.kost or tanguay's shot. so they dont cover them.

now we have a shooter, and others are more open.

The threat at the point now gives the people down low more space..before they used to just collapse since our point man wasn't a real threat.

I think the key is that Schneider's presence has given Markov a lot more room to operate and I've always thought Markov made our PP go. His vision and decision making are amongst the best in the league amongst defenseman. He had noone on the other point that presented any threat, so the PK focused on shutting him down. Now they can't do that because Schneider not only has a cannon for a shot but he also makes great decisions with the puck and is a good distributor.

this.

the addition of schneider just adds that threat that we didn't previously have...if they cover him hard..he can pass it off. if not, he can wire it. it's all about opening up different options on the pp.

well, the big difference is that Schneider actually hits the net when he shoots, something that we had been missing for the entire season.

You guys noticed how the classic PP Markov came back during last game? Saku had the puck and Markov silently skated towards the net and Koivu served him a nice pass. Looking foward to seeing that play more often from now on

That one, the Markov to Kovalev one timer and "Le crochet" play by Kovy.

That's all that there is to it, actually.

Now, opposite players have to fear BOTH pointmen instead of being able to pressure Markov as much as they want, and blocking passes to the forwards..

Notice how much the Ottawa players were between the faceoff circles instead of in the D's faces!

Has looked good since Schneider has come aboard and made me look like an idiot.

Win some and lose some.

Doesn't have to touch it to be effective. Teams know and respect him and his shot so they have to poach to cover him opening up other lanes.
