New York Rangers History

For my history report i need to write a 6+ page research paper on the History of The New York Rangers. For this i need to know a large history on the team, and a large history on the players. Does anyone know any website/books that can help me out with this? thanks!

Check out the notes and references on the wiki page. You probably can't use Wiki as a source (since it isn't considered scholarly), but you can use the books and articles used by Wiki to get their info.

Hey Sketch,

Ask me for some books. I have a lot of them.

You know where I live.

We were fine up to 1940 and then we've had a long and fruitless history of total suckage. No other Original 6 has sucked more than we did.

Use the Rangers website about the past players. There is a lot of information on there that you can use.

On February 23rd, 2009, the Rangers trade Scott Gomez, a seventh round pick in 2009, and future considerations in exchange for left winger Ilya Kovalchuk in an attempt to jumpstart the team.

Don't forget to write about the great performances of Pavel Bure, Bobby Holik, Eric Lindros, Marek Malik and Wade Redden.

An interesting subject might be the late 1960s, early 1970s Rangers. The GAG Line-Park-Giacomin team. They didn't win a Stanley but lordy they sure could have, especially if Dale Rolfe aims better.

Or if Ratelle doesn't get injured in 72... Best season by any single Ranger ever statistically. Best PPG ever in Rangers long and frustrating history.

I checked a lot of sites (including the NYR site) and couldn't find any info on this trade, where did you hear it from?...or if anyone else knows about it, please post, thanks!

I agree on all of those except Bure, he scored 12 goals and i think like 20 points in those first 20 games he played. Then he got hurt, it wasn't exactly something the Rangers could have predicted and it's not like he didnt play well....he just didnt play much

It wasn't something the Rangers could have predicted? Give me a break--Bure had had something like 6 surgeries on his knees, includling ACL replacements in both knees. He was a walking time bomb health-wise. To suggest anything else is revisionist history.
