Stephan Robidas

Dallas can't find the back of the net to save it's life. At this rate they are rapidly falling out of the race. Their injuries are just too much to overcome.

They don't have a lot of assets they'd want to trade but Robidas is a guy who should fetch something fairly good on deadline day if made available. I'm just not sure what he's worth. Dallas would probably want a young defenseman in return. A guy who can step into the lineup this season or compete for a spot in training camp next. So what's his trade value at the deadline? Picks or prospects are fine.

He makes 1.5 million this season and is signed for the same 1.5 million next year with a 1.5 million cap hit.

Keep Him

Might as well keep him. He has a solid, cap-friendly contract ... 1.5M for a veteran and an all-star (even if he didn't truly deserve to be there) sounds pretty good to me... if the Stars trade him now, next year they'll wish they had someone just like him on the team.

Value-wise, he might even be able to fetch a late 1st, but trading him would be too disruptive to team chemistry for a team that is clinging to a playoff spot.

He's not going anywhere.

Sell high on Robidas. Now is the best time to trick another team into overpaying for a guy who in reality is a 3rd pairing defenseman at best.

I love Robidas but that guy is allergic to shooting the puck on the PP.

If a first would get it done, I'd LOVE Robidas in Boston. Wouldnt mind sending Lashoff+ the other way either, if Dallas wants a young D-man coming their way. He would complicate our cap situation next year a bit but he would be a big help to our blueline.

Chara- Robidas
Ference- Wideman
Stuart- Ward

Lupul for Robidas...

Granted Lupul is streaky, but he can score and has decent hands, and the Flyers could use the toughness of Robidas. Flyers might have to add a mid-round pick as it'd be a salary dump.

Flame on.

Dallas wouldn't take Lupul's salary even if a pick was added. That would create major cap issues in 2010 when the cap goes down (could go down) and Dallas has a ton of top players as UFA's or RFA's that season.

Makes complete sense to me. Lupul's contract is definately a burden.

Thanks for the mature reply, very refreshing.

I'd take Weber from Montreal. That's not a bad deal at all.

I'd also take Lashoff from Boston or if they wouldn't let him go Boston's 1st.

As was said above Dallas doesn't really need any expensive wingers. They're going to have to pay Eriksson soon. They'd want a d-man back from Philly or draft pick(s) depending on what was offered.
