What should Bob's next move be?

In your opinion, what do you think he should so next?

Well kind of obvious don't you think ?
I'd say try to get something for and / or to replace Kovy.

Find a way to dump a ton of salary (higgins/plek) so you can send picks/prospects away for Jokinen.

It's twofold...

1-how does the team react to Kovy being out
2-how does Kovy react to this

I think we'll know in 4-5 games.

Trade Kovalev for a good, big centerman. We made a move to address our weak defence by getting Schneider....so now we need to address our other need of a big strong centerman who can put points on the board. Jokinen might be decent....Horton would be another choice I would go after....Jeff Carter, Malkin, Vinny, Fedorov or Nylander are a few others I'd like to have on my team.

If Bob does make a move, I hope its for a player who is big, strong, and can score points....someone fairly young and someone with either a couple years left on a contract or someone who will re-sign next season.

That makes no sense. Since when are Higgins and Plekanec big salaries that need to be dumped?

...and why would Phoenix trade Jokinen for picks and prospects?

I hope you're not implying that those guys would be in the return for Kovy ...

Nah, I think I'd pass on all three of those guys...

Getting a top six center.

I'd take a look at the St.Louis blues

I am a big habs fan from the US... I respect and like? all the players on the roster, but this has been ridiculous the last month... yesterday the people were saying that Kovy stayed home to rest.. hasn't he rested the last 10+ games????? enough said there.. It is time for a change = somehow.. I cannot (yet) see replacing Carbo, as some suggested, so getting rid of UFA's now and getting something (Value) in return is the answer.. if you get some players and/or picks for Kovy, you can always flip them or some to PHX for Joky, if that is the player they want. There are others out there, but at what cost?

should be interesting the next few weeks in habs-ville...!! I have been watching all postings regarding trades or firings on ESPN and NHL Network .. it will light up the next few weeks for sure..!!

take care to all...

Very concerned habs fan
(Machab)....///

After trading Kovalev, the only thing missing is a good center à la Lang. I wished we had a better D than Schneider, but I guess there aren't many sellers there. It is time to get rid of some prospects that have some value like Chipchura, Fisher to build a winning team. Because not only is it important for this season, but for next season also.

1) get rid of Kovy

2) sign Tanguay, Kiovu and Komi

2)get Horton in Montreal: something like Plekanec, D'agostini, 1st in 2010, and 4 th in 2010
