Problem is the guy doing the firing should be fired as well.[/QUOTE]

BINGO>... it doesnt matter who is standing behind the bench with this group of scrubs, i feel for renney but im sure he's gasping a sigh of relief he doesnt have to watch this team struggle to keep the appropriate amount of men on the ice anymore. I wish him the best, pearn on the other hand should never be behind another bench as long as he lives. Bring in the next victim sather while you enjoy the view from the top a$$hat.

Exactly. I;m getting ahead of myself, but all of those who thought the team was being held back by Renney, just wait and see.

I liked Renney but he had to go. Something needed a change and we are 1 step closer.

Renney, thanks for getting us to the playoffs the past few years.

Sather should have been the one to lose his job. Signs Redden, passed his prime, for 6 years? Gomez for 7 years? Drury for 5 years? He's a moron and still being rewarded for what happened in Edmonton 20-25 years ago...and I'm one that wanted him here back in 2000, but he became a kid in the MSG candy store, throwing a ton of money at every big FA name and hoped it stuck to the wall...it didn't. He's now started to do that again.

Let's all be thankful we still have hard-working, talented young players like Dubi, Callahan, Dawes, Staal, Girardi, Prucha (if and when he plays), Betts, and Sjostrom.

Coming from a team that just fired their coach....I don't think this is Renney's fault...This falls on Sather imo. He put together this team. He paid over $11MM this year for Redden and Rozsival. He lost Jagr, Shanahan, Avery, Straka...That's too much to lose...

I wonder who the replacement will be. I really hope Sather isn't going behind the bench.

Although if he does take over coaching the team, and he sees this monstrosity he created than maybe just maybe Dolan will fire him, or he will try to blow the entire thing up and start over correctly.

Thanks Tom for all you've done for this half-assed organization. Smart guy, smart coach, deserved a better fate.

Also, Sather is a ******.
Well said. You could argue this move had to made, but Renney was the best coach we had in a while. Who knows what will happen now..

Well nobody can't deny that Tom did a lot of good things here. We'll see if a change really solves anything in a posetive way.

I indeed hope so.

please dont let sather coach this team.

pearn deserved it long ago. renney only after the team began to fade and he couldnt make them respond. decent man, good person, smart hockey guy. but in the end, not the right coach for this team and ultimately, the right move.

in that order.

Had to be done and hopefully we can turn things around. I'm not going to sit here like an angry cheerleader and hoot and hollar about it though. The guy deserves better than that.

Tom Renney is as classy a man there is and I wish him all the best.

Garbage players = garbage result. You're making it sound like a new coach is going to turn Gomez and Drury into 40 goal scorers and Redden into Mike Green. Please. They still SUCK.

i think its a good move. we can all agree we're on a downward spiral, so the worst that happens is it continues, best case we turn it around. I just didnt see a turnaround being possible with the current coaching regime.

Everyone knows this is Sather's fault too. If he doesn't do anything to alleviate even some of the idiotic decisions he's made he should be gone too.
