Hartnell is a freak.

I think Jeff Carter, with that inadvertant feed to Ovechkin, put to rest the notion that he is a good defensive player. He's not. It doesn't make him a bad person, but he's not.

Asham - that was awesome, really quite entertaining.

What're they gonna do to get Briere back? Who would trade for Jones at deadline? Lupul used to make sense but Hot Dang that line is clicking. What're they gonna do???

Would it be impolite to point out that John Stevens schooled Bruce Boudreau? Or was it players tonight?

Niitty got huge.
Youre ripping Carter for making a bad clear when he played 20 minutes a night WITH FLU SYMPTOMS and praising the man who put him in that situation all in the same post.

What a homer. LOL.

Ahh ****... Jones actually didnt do bad on the first pairing... Stevens might now put Kimmo on the third pairing and leave Jones on the first!

I think Id riot outside Steven's house or something if that happened

All Giroux did was put back to back 100 point seasons in JR, and score a record 51 pts in the playoffs. JVR wasn't even the best player on his team in the WJC. And I don't remember homer stating any disappointment in Giroux's development as he has for JVR. If JVR gets us a stud damn like J-Bo, do it in a second.

i was impressed by asham's hands and patience on that goal. dare i say offensive potential?

good job not giving up on a 2-0 deficit, though those final minutes of PP time were scary (didn't even seem like we had an advantage for much of it).

I'm watching replay now. Man I love Giroux more and more every game. He is so patient with the puck. Can you picture him when he's Richards' age.

I hope everyone realized in this game that Upshall is a 3rd line energy player and not a skilled player that should replace Lupul.

1. Jones - Making an absurd amount of cash for a mediocre player.
2. Lupul - Claude in Lupuls spot on Carters line would be amazing. Book it. Dont wanna trade Lupes, but I see him leaving.

One thing I will praise Jones for( get ready JXC) is that when we need him to step up, he usually does. He impressed me last year in the playoffs when Timonen and Coburn went down. I just wish he could play well more often

and I think Alberts and Kukkonen going could be enough for Danny. or maybe Alberts going and Metro being replaced by Powe

Gagne-Briere-Knuble
Hartnell-Carter-Lupul
Upshall-Richards-Giroux
Cote-Metro-Asham

Timonen-Coburn
Parent-Carle
Vaananen-Jones

Biron
Niitty

True, but Giroux can.

Also, I love Upshall's chemistry with Carter, both of their speed together is always fun to watch.

I want them on the same line. They seem to have a chemistry.

I know people want Giroux to be feeding Carter pucks, but it's painfully obvious by now that Carter controls the puck when he's on the ice. It's why he plays best with guys that don't need the puck a lot - like Upshall and Hartnell.

So does anyone else think Ossi played well enough to earn a spot in the lineup?

according to stevens, the answer is no. he got only 9:20 minutes worth of playing time but was a +2 in that time..

i didnt think he played poorly at all, i think his TOI was largely because of so many power plays / penalty kills.

Looks like I missed a fantastic game. The highlights showed plenty of action, though I have yet to see Giroux's goal. Nitty's stats were excellent and he couldn't be faulted on either goal. Hartnell and Asham both scored beauties. The highlight of the game, clearly, was the Richards hit on Poti. Damn.

Alberts, yes.

I realize Jones' spot on this team is locked right now, which is fine.

My whole beef right now is Ossi > Alberts in almost every way, except hes definitely less physical. But I think everything is way better then alberts too. Awareness, instincts, making smarter plays, a bit more careful about taking stupid penalties etc.

Even a pairing of Jones - Ossi would be a decent pairing IMO.

Giroux's goal was a rebound I think. NHL.com has all the goals
