What about trading Hagman at deadline

I'm sure he could bring back pretty good return considering he is signed for couple more years only at 3mil/yr.

Any thoughts on that?

Hagman has a NMC in the first year of his deal. Not to mention the fact he just signed here and knew we'd likely be bad, so I doubt he's moved.

No need to jump on the guy if he didn't know about the NMC. Unless you're feeling down about yourself and need to lash out

I wouldn't want to trade him even if we could. He is a useful player that can play on the 1st/2nd lines. He is relatively young, and we can hold on to him for the next couple of years.

His trade value is probably not that high as he would not be considered an elite or even a very good player, just a capable winger.

theres no need to trade everyone on the team. hes a good player at $3 mil a year. can score and can kill penalties

Solid 2nd liner. Keep him

On pace for just over 26 goals (for 82 games) and almost 25 assists (10 points over last years production)

and last year he was playing on a hot Stars team.

Absolutely!!!

He's a lot craftier then I expected and when he wants to is very difficult to get the puck from. Great pick-up by Cliffo no doubt...no sense in dealing this guy

I'd like to keep him around. He plays pretty well in all situations.

He tries to do too much from time to time but I think he can be a good secondary player, as well as a PK/PP man.

I don't think he's been used too much on the PK this year, but I'd like to see him on there more often.

You know he asked about thoughts and views, he didn't ask to be bashed up. If you have something to say good or useful, say it, if nothing, just silence yourself.

And Hagman is I think the veteran presence we need in this team for our young growing team, he has been great so far, and yes if he made that many goals in a hot stars team and he is still able to maintain about that much goal rate at a current team like ours, I would say his contract was worth it. I hope his veteran presences helps our future players after this year's draft.

If you get rid of Antropov, it would be idiotic to even consider getting rid of Hagman too.

Hagman is one of the few bright spots on the team, to move him after half a season would be ridiculous.

Somebody has to wear the uniform after the big names are traded so no. If Moore is in fact moving because of contract expectations there will already be more spots to fill than bodies in the organization. I'm a tanker but I don't want to see an all Marlies lineup and I think most people will be at their limit for the club paying its dues by the end of next season. Needs to be some continuity in terms of NHL caliber players here while they reload.

I do like the drafting of Schenn, but I can't help but wonder if the Leafs would be better off staying at 7 and picking up Hodgson, Wilson or Filatov (if he was available). Time will tell I guess

IMO I could see Burke moving one of Moore or Stajan, but not both. Either make a great 3rd line winger, and with Grabovski and possibly Mitchell, they are pretty weak up the middle IMO. I would be suprised to see more than 2 moves at the deadline, Antro/Moore or Stajan. The draft may be where Burke might trade Kaberle. Like to see Mayers go, can't see anyone giving up a third for him though.

You are forgetting its a salary cap era. The tankers hope of obtaining only picks and prospects for vetern players isn't very likely. Salary will in most cases have to be coming back and rosters spots will be replaced. Most likely somewhat expensive short term deals coming back.
