Kind of lukewarm on this one, but honestly I'd rather trade Kuba and Neil for picks, keep Vermette and try our luck at free agency. Pass.

They're sort of my hometown team (I'm not living there atm, but I used to)....

I'd have to say.... No... However, I hate New York and most of their players. . The problem with deals with so many players is it often creates unrealistic trades. Assuming it was to happen:

NYR:
Kuba ==> No idea what he'll get.
Smith ==> I don't think he's up for trades, but I have to imagine he'd fetch a blue chip/1st?
Neil ==> Individually probably a 2nd-3rd
Vermette ==> Individually maybe a 1st?

-=-=-

Prucha's going to want a raise, that might be tough cap wise... Dawes hasn't really impressed much. Kalinin is also pointless except maybe salary dump??

I'd love a deal that saw Marc Staal coming the other way, but I doubt that'd happen.

Who are the other ranger prospects these days?

Ottawa politely turns it down. We are not taking back Rozival's salary.

How has Rozsival been doing lately? I know he was being crucified for a little while there, but has he turned it around at all? He's got a rough cap hit, but this proposal is kind of intriguing...

How often do 4 for 4 swaps happen between two struggling teams that include most of their struggling players.

It's amazing how you love to offer up young Rangers for scrubs.

I just can't see the Sens taking Rozsival's salary as he is probably about $1 million overpaid (he has never put up more than 40 points) from a Sens perspective. When compared with Kaberle any team trading for him would have to think twice.

Plus isn't Prucha a bit of an enigma? Here some days...gone the next...

How about Michael Del Zotto, a 2nd round pick and Roszival for the 4 sens?

I could live with that.

I could also live with Staal and Roszival. However, Staal is probably untouchable.

I sort of think Roszival is overpaid and a contract liability on the Sens, but for a good enough blue chip, maybe worth it.

Rosvial is a top 4 defenseman and Dawes and Prucha with a real coach are 20 goal guys. Neil had one good year. He's no offense and Vermette is probably one of the most overrated guys in hockey.

Just awful. I don't think it could be worse unless it involved Gomez.

Prucha has little or no value, same with Kalinin. Roszival is overpriced for what he does and if Ottawa wanted him they would have pursued him over the summer. Dawes is the only player of value in the trade.

Meanwhile:
-Kuba could likely fetch a 1st round pick
-Neil could likely fetch a 2nd round pick
-Smith could potentially get a 3rd-4th round pick if a team doesn't mind his 2009-10 salary
-Vermette is more valuable as a Sen than he is in a trade

Epic fail!

So do the Rangers.

Prucha and Dawes could not only both be regulars in the lineup, but could actually produce in a Torts system. With the Rangers last in the NHL in goals per game, why would they want to trade two young forwards with upside and an offensive defenseman who, despite being overpaid and having his lapses, is actually pretty decent for older players with less upside? They don't even clear any cap.

And what would the Rangers be doing with Betts, Orr, Sjostrom, Voros and Neil all on one roster?

Kuba is better than Roszival, making less than him, likely even after he gets a new contract this summer.

Vermette is better than both Prucha and Dawes, even with the supposed Torts system that will hypothetically turn them into better players. It's certainly not a completely one-sided deal, but I think it definitely favours the Rangers.

Too much turnover. I like Kuba and Smith to the Rangers, Neil idk, since Avery's almost a lock to be back (see Sathers comments). Even though I'd love having both on the team. No interest in Vermette.

Of the Rangers "Fat Four" Rozi is the one guy I'd keep, but have no problem dealing him either. Dawes I don't care about, same with Kalinin, Prucha I want to keep, especially since Renney's gone.

THis one is a toss up for me, if Sens fans don't like it, fine with me
