13 Scouts at yesterdays game

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=2685...headlines_main

Vancouver Jennik Hansen missed a second game with a broken finger, while Darcy Hordichuk stayed home in Vancouver, where his wife had a baby boy on the weekend. . . With the trade deadline approaching, there were 13 scouts in the pressbox.

We all know somethings going to happen, or atleast Gaineys going to try, have the people living in Montreal heard anything rumblings, anything news worthy??

It's trade deadline time. That's not surprising at all. I bet it's eastern teams scouts watching Vancouver.

Only 13? I guess a few were busy elsewhere. Trade deadline always brings the crowds

Why would they? Vancouver surely won't be sellers.

My gut feeling is the team you see is the team you get.

Our additions will be Tanguay and hopefully Lang. Getting Schneider was a pretty big move by BG standards.

However, I wouldn't mind seeing Bob go after a reliable veteran backup goalie. If Halak goes down right now we're in deep trouble.

Less travel to watch the Nucks in Montreal. You don't have to be a seller to be scouted.

True.

Still though. We're done if Halak gets injured.

you guys are getting annoying with the Price bashing, he is the one who put us in the position we are now in the standings with great play during the beginning of the season, give it up already !

I don't understand this statement. Whether a team is buying or selling there are players/assets going both ways.

I'm also sick of it. I'm sure Price will be back with a vengence. People easily forget that he only had 4 regulation losses in his first 25 starts to the season, which is pretty remarkable for a 21 years old. He's young, it is entirely normal that he will make on-ice and off-ice mistakes. Leave it to the average fan to make his/her grand opinion above all else. Why do you think that talk radio is so popular, call Ron!!! Call Ron!! Give your opinion!!!

its because the other poster said they were there to look at Vancouver. Why would they be looking at Vancouver only when teams know that Gainey would be willing to trade some assets? Why would it be only Vancouver?

Probably because he played more games than Halak.. they have both gained .58% of possible points (decisions).

The fact is though, of late, Halak has been the goalie that is playing good enough to win.. and that's the biggest thing for this team.. they need to win right now or we may not make the playoffs..

He is not giving up on Price and neither is Carbonneau.
This is Halaks time to shine and if he keeps playing like this for the next 20 games of the season he will be the starter for the playoffs.

There is nothing wrong with that, in fact it is exactly what happens when you have 2 young goalies. There will be ups and downs.

I doubt BG makes a single move from here on in.

That's the exact same thing you said before BG got Schneider.

So I should expect BG to make a move.

But in all seriousness, I think he just might. Laraque not being needed as much as he'd like, Erik Cole not going well in Edmonton, it all smells like a potential trade. (not saying eye for eye, but Laraque+somethingsomething for Cole).

The reason I never see this deal happening ... we need help on the blueline, not upfront.

The only way I see BG making a move is if he can upgrade our defense. The problem is... every GM is trying to do the same thing.

Does Montreal really need another winger?
Another defenseman or a Center is what I see the Habs more in need of.
