They're going to keep him around.

He'll be useful come playoff time. Enforcers sit games when healthy on all teams.

Laraque croit qu'il pourrait être échangé

Second guy is right.

If anything, he'll probably be traded to Edmonton. It was either here, or there.

I don't know if he'll be traded, hard to say.

80% of the time...other players DO NOT want to fight Laraque

He can't just jump a guy, you all (not specifically you) wanted an enforcer, well we got the best one in the league, but had alot of you watched other games then the Habs, you would of known that Laraque's fighting majors have gone down every year because NO ONE WANTS TO TAKE HIM ON, and when they do, they're just trying to hold on for dear life.

Fighting for the sake of fighting is dumb. I'd rather have a guy who is willing to stick up for his teammates.

he is slow as hell and is a liability when he is on the ice

Chipchura looks like the roadrunner in term of speed next to him

he doesn't need to fight heavy weights, just like last night just give give some spark to the team.

We did pretty well without Laraque last year against the Bruins and Flyers during the regular season(yes playoffs I know but they won't even play come playoff time)

Get rid of this guy if it's possible Bob!

I don't care if he fights. I want him to intimidate the opponents. When opponents are taking shots at our guys, I want him to make his presence felt. Only ONCE this year did he do that, against Boston when he chased Lucic around for a whole game.

Anyway, I've seen too many pics of our guys getting pushed around with him just standing around and doing nothing.

I want my tough guy to be a mean SOB. If Laraque was a mean guy, he would be scary. Brashear is a WAY more effective enforcer because he's MEAN. He'll hit anybody, he'll bump your goalie, you'll KNOW when he's on the ice.

Sometimes it's worth taking 2 mins if you can scare the crap out of somebody.

Haha. Welcome to the Laraque the Oilers had. His "code of the enforcer" is a joke. I feel your pain but I wouldn't want him back on the Oilers. Fortunately for the Habs, the Oilers are run by monkeys and would actually trade for him.

Most teams do not play their enforcers during the playoffs as fighting there is rare enough to be an event.

Which is really quite telling on the value of fighting in general and enforcers in particular.
