This team needs to start playing better, bottom line, hopefully they can start this period because we can't afford anymore mis-steps

our PP is embarassing, we are going to lose this game, we don't look into it at all.

No penalty on the Ranger just standing there?

Are they seriously not calling that interference?

Thank god for long legs and Callahan's inability to lift the puck.

boy... remember when i talked about the fact we cannot get into the zone on the PP? sheez. that was pathetic. we get our first shot with 15 seconds left in the PP.

that was a poor, poor start to this period. maybe andy's save there will give us a boost but on first look, ballard made a bad decision there trying to draw the penalty; if he worked a little harder to avoid the check and still was held up, he may have gotten the call.

meanwhile, no forecheck at all. no execution in our end, no speed, no forecheck, no nuthin'...

we look like we are in a little bit of a slump here, it doesn't seem like anyone is working out there...

This team is not into this game. Where is the fire this team had? It's like we've quickly reverted to our old ways.

I feel like Horton is going to score tonight. He's been pretty good so far.

These are the games where I want our energy guy (Nasty) to come out and start a fight or get a few big hits.

I agree. This is the worst I've seen us look this calendar year.

Exactly what I was just thinking.

And am I the only one who thinks that was NOT an interference penalty? To me, it looked like the defenseman was caught out of position, had the Rangers player there (holding his position, getting in the way, which is allowed) and then tried to turn his back to draw the interference penalty. Nice try, no cigar.

I didn't think it was a penalty. One of the key terms with regard to interference is "established skating lane" the Rangers player had an established position on that line and Ballard skated into him.

This team needs offense so badly.

I'm hoping JM the GM is watching this team and thinking the same thing. We really need that guy who can just score to bring things back together for us. We need another finisher.

I hope we can actually be buyers at the deadline as opposed to ONCE AGAIN trading away players and acquiring fringe players for draft picks. I want to see that management is serious this year.

We look pretty terrible but on the bright side we're only down by a goal.

I think we can confirm Booth is the other teams target.. he's constantly being taken out of the play anymore when rushing the puck.. that sucks.

THat's why you can't just rely on one way to score in the NHL to be effective. You have to be very versatile. Booth's at his best streaking down the wing and doing stuff but if that's not there, it's a struggle for him to score.

Btw, haven't read through any of the threads but I just saw Stillman's out tonight after having been hit with a slapshot while he was hanging out around the net:
It must have been Boynton

JM already said he's not trading away Jay for prospects. He only wants teams that are willing to give away player(s) who will help us THIS year.

Thankfully the Rangers suck at scoring, too.

what are you talking about? What player has Martin brought in that's not been useful here? Or fringe?
