For some reason, I'm actually really excited about this. I think he'll bring some nice things to our team. Good pickup!

Is he really that much of an upgrade over Begin??

I find that really hard to believe

Great pickup. Better than Begin, better than Chipchura.

Although this might mean we don't add a top-2 centerman.

He's a definite upgrade over Chipchura and Bégin. Not much playoff experience tho.

That 1 goal was against us last year in the first round, heh.

This guy did score 15 goals 2 years ago. Let's give him a chance. He's better suited to playing with offensive wingers than Begin is.

I really like this move.

When everyone comes back we can roll 5 lines instead of 4.

So in effect it's Begin for Metropolit+an AHL d.

Not a big deal, but to me that's an upgrade.

Well if he replaces Chipchura I'm happy.
That being said Begin could have done the same job.

Yeah, it makes sense. But I hope it isn't the only centre-related move...

Not really. Begin isn't a very good center.

If you ask me this move is a joke...you get rid of Begin who is very capable of playing 4rth line center, is well liked, has sacrificed himself for this team to replace him by a career journeyman.
We didnt ask...

He isn't abysmal in the faceoff circle and takes your buddy Chipchura out of the lineup.

Win-win.

So if someone says they are better than a guy who isnt in the NHL and a marshmellow like Bonk, you are overating them? BRING ON THE CUP!!

For what Metropolit will bring which is a bit more speed, more grit and a decent faceoff guy. Seems to be a good team guy as well.

These are 4th line guys, Metro will fill in a 4th line need better than either of those players.

Not a flashy move but if Dandenault and Begin are both gone we need a vet on the bottom lines. Metropolit could be what Smolinksi, Dowd, etc have been for us in the playoffs in the past. Hopefully he is better at faceoffs than Bill Lindsay.

So....did Eklund really had this one?

And anybody caught what Martin McGuire said on CKAC, that other movements might happen real soon as far as the Habs are concerned...seemed to me like he was even talking about today....
