tang-saku-dagger
patches-lapierre-latendresse
stewart-metropolit-kostopolous

looks great to me.

I like that

Basically that's like trading Begin for Janik and Metropolit. Janik provides depth and experience in Hamilton while Metropolit is an upgrade over Begin for a lesser price. Good job Bob!

Eklund did break it first. I was listening to Team 990 and they were about 5 minutes late, still ahead of RDS.ca

About the next move, was McGuire saying that after the Metropolit move?

Gainey is an idiot.

Picking up a 34 year old grinder center who's 5'10? When we're already small down the middle? At least he's UFA at the end of the season...

Oh wait, he's not.

Pathetic, I thought we were getting rid of useless, overpaid players. Guess not.

Is it ok to get over that? It happened ages ago...get over it man.

Fact is, Bégin was a player with limited talent (and i'm being polite) who served his purpose for the Habs and was well compensated for it. His effectiveness has gone down every year and he can't play his game the way he needs to over a long period of time.

This Bégin tribute that's been happening since yesterday has got to stop...there's 100's of Bégin's on every AHL roster...the guy's probably not going to be in the NHL next year, he'll probably play in the AHL or go to Europe...he's a bit player whose value will never be as high as it was, then when he was a Hab

Anyways, I get the feeling Metropolit is going to be a favorite of Carbo

I respect your opinion and like i said earlier i hope you are right

Also if this means Chips is sent down to Hamilton it's even better

As for him NOT being a UFA this summer it's no big deal...he could be bought out for cheap if needed

Cost nothing, worth almost nothing. I'll give him a chance but right now I don't understand this move from Bob. Unless it hides something bigger... I hope.

I'd wish a Reinprecht instead

If you're going to put Plekanec there, might as well put Koivu too

Why do people feel the need to humiliate them selves by showing their lack of hockey knowledge and judgment on a consistent basis on this forum?

And people question why we seem to have players that play like they don't care...Begin cared and I didn't mind seeing Begin go, as long as it was to open up a spot for one of OUR young guys.

Not another 35 year old journeyman....

I don't understand the people here, we're all sick and tired of seeing Kostopoulos play 20 minutes a game, we all agree we need to get bigger in the center position... and you're all happy with this?

W t f is wrong with all of you.

I think the name's been changed (like Jennifer Aniston from Anastassakis). Well, that's what my Greek friend has told me before, but he says everything is Greek...

Because it's a depth move and it's an upgrade over Begin who was basically the same dimensions. The Habs' problem isn't small centers, it's small offensive centers. You could get an 8 foot fourth liner and it really wouldn't make much of a difference.

I love the people here who have barely watched the guy play and are *****ing about him while Boston and Philly fans are saying its a good pick up. We gave up NOTHING to get him.

Seriously Metropolit will play the same kind of role than Smoke last year, he will be a speedy 4th line center that can put the puck in the net from time to time. He will be hungryer than Smoke though...

I never saw a player floating around like Smoke.

I don't see how anyone can dislike this move. Metropolit played all 82 games for Boston last year. He's more than capable of being a regular player.

And he had 33 points last year. Begin has never come close to that.

He gives more offense than Begin, and gives us an option at 4th line center other than Chipchura.

Good move. Plus he's under contract next year at a reasonable price. So he gives us an option moving forward as well.

Will he be playing tonight against the Flyers? Haha that would be pretty weird.

Im ready to watch him pot a hat trick after missing the net and fanning on shots a countless number of times a game with the flyers.

EDIT: apologies for my avvy, Ive been too lazy to change it since the playoffs.
