Laperierre to Chicago

The Rocky Mountain News speculates that Laperierre is available.

I'm thinking he would cost a 3rd rounder unless a lot of teams have interest.

The Hawks need some gritty veteran leadership and he fits under the cap without changing the dynamic of our club too much.

problem is when Sharp is back where does Lappy fit? Send Fraser back down? Were getting too much production out of Eager and Burish is a spark plug...

I have always been a fan of Laperierre and i'd love for the Hawks to pick him up. He is exactly what the Hawks need for this year. He can come in and provide a steadying influence without causing too much roster upheaval, he also provides decent thoughness and PKing ability.

Release Adams or just carry an extra forward incase of injury.

No one is going to be able to replace Sharp but acquiring a guy like Lappy allows us to stop the bleeding caused by an injury. Lappy can provide the Hawks an asset they are going to need in the playoffs while not costing much short term or long term.

Send Fraser anywhere. Lappy would be a great addition.

Yea, I would definitely support bringing in Lappy for a third line center. Adams can go straight to the Rock.

I'd love for this to happen. Cut Adams or Fraser, Lappy is a clear upgrade to both.

A 3rd for a UFA that wants to re-sign in Colorado?!?

I'm sure there are better players available that could help us not only this season but next season as well. I am not a fan of rental players. I doubt we'll make the finals with or without Lappy and would hate to throw away picks this season. Next season, I'd be more than happy to make a rental deal. Reason being once the kids get some playoff experience, they'd be more prepared to make a run next season.

The short game RARELY pays off. Now bettering ourselves for this season and next (even @ greater cost\), would be much more attractive in my opinion.

Let the other teams overpay for rentals. We can make a good run as is. I doubt a player Lappy's abilities would put us over the top.

There should be a lot of interest among the playoff teams.

With that in mind, I think nothing less than a 2nd gets it done.

As far as rentals go, a guy like Laperierre is a fairly safe bet to resign. He does not want to break the bank or anything. A third is more than fair for a player of his abilities. It might seem like a lot, but I think he could easily bring that in. Plus he is the kind of player that Coach Q loves so I could totally see it happen.

I hindsight, if we could resign him, I'd be ok with the deal. No way I'd give up a second but a 3rd if he re-signs for one year would be ok. He provides leadership and experience that could help the kids.

Make it a conditional pick, then. 3rd round if he signs with us, 4th if he doesn't.

I wouldn't be against picking him up and making Fraser our extra man.

Adams is no longer much of anything anymore. I really would like to see the Hawks drop him. Adams used to be a very effective player but most nights this year he really hasn't looked good at all.

I wouldn't mind getting him but I wouldn't give up a lot to do it. Guy's a fun player but he's really past his prime.
