Berdsk (http://hockey.penza.net/game.asp?Cur...=3373&Months=1) used to have a team (last year) in the first division (pervaya liga), Siberian Snipers also had used their ice to play in the MHL. Odintsovo is an independent hockey school in Moscow area. We may be loosing KS not only from the VHL, but MHL as well, most logical solution would be for Barys to take their spot.

Do you know something about Odintsovo and Berdsk? Which league do their seniors play?
I though that MHL B will have at least 20 teams...
So MHL B is like Canadian Junior A (or Junior AAA in Quebec) or USHL? The MHL proper will remain the Russian major junior league.

yes and now, because the will be relegation from A to B and promotion the other way. they wanna look at the MHL-B as a comparable junior league with lesser budgets and way less travel, but, quoting MHL "no lesser talent"

If there actually is no lesser talent then there would be two major junior leagues...

Tretyak offered to split the MHL into the U18 and U20 leagues and to get rid of the 21 year old - great idea, I wrote about it before MHL even kicked off, but I think it's not coming for few more years.

Efimov doesn't think it's feasable now, I must agree, financially - 2/3 of the KHL will not be able to handle it. I am pro - 18-20 MHL and 16-18 regional tournaments based out of local hockey schools, seems like that's what Efimov is saying.

brief overview of new MHL clubs - apparently 2 clubs from Kazkhstan and, as noted before, 2 from Latvia.

I would think there's a good chance. I doubt they would draft him that high without first talking to him.

MHL-B invoked a huge power-struggle, let's see what happens. So far - I think - MHL is a huge positive, but it is pretty clear, that some individuals are trying to use hockey as a jump start in their career and not very adequate, but again - it should be good for hockey at this stage.

I don't think one extreme is better than the other (private or government controlled hockey) but, in this case, I certainly hope that MHL gets the -B teams that they want. I'm dissapointed with FHR for a lot of reasons, too many to list.

you know what is problem with MHL B. VHL teams want to join B division. So no more VHL teams in regional Prvaya Liga (First league). And boss of Ural-Far East (Karandin I hope) threatens that he wont allow kids schoolls do these VHL teams to join leagues next season if VHL teams join MHL B.

I dont say that MHL is ideal or God, I just say that it is good enough at this moment. Their movement are mostly positive IMO. They want to change something. I would be happy if someone similar MHL was in Slovakia...

Well Steel Foxes are second best Junior team in all of Russia - they are playing teams that only have high schoolers on their roster..

well, I went to the game today against the Mass team. One can see that Foxes are much more talented, with the exception of 44. The goalie gives up a lot of rebounds, but makes the first and the second save though. A lot of passion a lot of desire to win, Efimov is very inteligent person as well.
