Keep playing through it.

A lot of the offensive ineptitude is the personnel. There's only so much you can do with two of your four best fowards gone and your best offensive defensemen out for the year, plus nagging injuries (based on how often they're skipping practice) to two other top 6 forwards and your young guys silent.

Right now, they're not physically battling like they did against the Sharks. That needs to change. The defensemen need to get the puck in deep and like them battle for it in the corners instead of constantly trying to carry it in.

But as far as long term, the only thing you can do with injuries like this is ride it out.

That was a phenomenally stupid pinch, Sydor.

yeah well by the time all of our skilled players get back we'll be out of the race with very little time left in the season... but yeah I can't see any other way either

Trading out of desperation at this point is stupid, we'll only end up regretting it in the long run

Why are you surprised?

Is this team suppose to get better as they keep losing their best players???

He has been, which makes that stat more surprising.

Piqued found somewhere that listed who assisted on certain goals. Ribeiro assisted on more than Richards, IIRC.

I wonder how much of that is power play, or remnants of where Ribeiro overstayed his shift.

I hope Tippett reams them at intermission. They've been incredibly flat. Maybe it's fatigue, but they have to battle harder when they're so short-handed.

The highlight of that period was definitely Sydor's shot on Turco, with quite some force.

Eriksson has scored almost all his goals at ES, and despite the fact he leads the team in goals, Eriksson has played the 2nd PP unit the majority of the year (go figure).

I guess it's Ribeiro overstaying shifts seeing he does it every shift.

I thought that was him, but I figured I'd let it go seeing no one else cared.

*snerks* He really does. It was so, so obvious when I was at Monday's game.

Piqued - I'm both happy and sad that I missed that.

**** it's so incredibly frustrating watching this team struggle like this and knowing there is absolutly nothing we can do - we simply have the least talent in the western conference at this point and have to be picture perfect to win.

what a horrible season

Modano and Niskanen were on the ice for both goals against.

Brunnstrom had some good plays in the defensive zone to start the game.

Stretching for positives.

Daley can come back around 8:00 in to the 2nd. I hope putting the Ducks on the PP was worth it ......

yeah well we may suck some serious ass but atleast we stand up for our team-mates... I guess

I'm guessing the Ducks are still one of the better teams in the league with the lead. this is a pretty ****ing tall mountain for the Stars to climb

I wonder if Tippett will remind the team goals aren't usually scored for 40 feet out.

well atleast if we do miss the playoffs this season it won't be like last time when the players simply didn't give a **** and played poorly to get the coach fired..

I think the Stars are trying, we can't really blame them for being outclassed

I thought you were at the game?

Also, this is one of those years that you get through, hope to make the playoffs, and use it as trial by fire for guys for next season. You know what to expect (or at least, hope to expect) from Ott, Eriksson and Neal now, and you have a better idea of when to trust each of the young D. You don't sell pieces that will be useful next year because next year you get more back from injuries than you could have ever gotten in UFA.

Thank. Freaking. God.

Edit: Holy hell, a shot from Sydor got all the way through. Good for him, and a great screen by Ott even if he didn't touch it.

Ribeiro has turned on the magic hands.

Boy has this team come back from the dead this period. Great shot by Niskanen and great, great playmaking by Ribeiro on that shift.
