For fighting with the thing on his hand, I'd assume.

GLU - I think he'd get it anyway just for fighting with it. The last time he fought, he didn't throw any punches. This time he had to because the refs wouldn't jump in.

Define for me better, will you?

And who does he play with. Niskanen who I have seen Sydor bail out way to many times. Niskanen before this game was a team worst -11

If the refs knew Ott had a hand brace on why the hell didn't they step in when Moen started throwing punches?

Against skaters, not goalies.

Turco is a punk, but even he doesn't jump guys after the game is over, no matter what's going on in his crease. Stick whacks? Sure. But jumping a guy and punching him in the head is the definition of instigating.

Agreed, don't just start cross checking players and expecting nothing to come your way. It was a matter of time someone would be pissed off enough and jump this guy. But again, I agree Giguere shouldn't have slashed him

The refs were horrible in the game for both sides. Allowing Moen to plow Ott who cannot physically fend him off with his brace is just another example of the ref's stupidity.

Did I write anything to support your insinuation? No.

I wrote he didn't wail on him, rather he did what happens in every single hockey game . . .before the buzzer. And if you look a bit further, you might have seen me even comment that I didn't blame Stay-Puft for doing what he did.

I see it as both of them contributing to it, honestly.

Niskanen is alright in the high slot, but he's bad in front of the net, and he's horrible one-on-one. Sydor is also bad in front of the net, and he has the bad habit of turning the puck over through either overcommittment on the half wall or just dumb turovers and leaving Niskanen in the spots where he's most likely to get burned.

That pairing brings out the worst in each of them. I have no idea why it's been allowed to stay together so long. I've ragged on Niskanen often in the past as well, even when he was the golden boy last year.

When could they really get in there though? Moen was busy throwing punches.

One, and he's stated on numerous occasions he wants to play a couple more after his deal runs out. Who knows if that happens or not.

Then he should've kept his gloves on and wrestled him down. He knew the risk. Though Souray didn't get suspended for fighting with a wristguard on, even though he allegedly used it in the fight. They may've looked the other way if he used his off hand.

I don't. That's a guaranteed suspension. The Stars bench is short as it is.

Keep the insults and trolling out of the thread, everyone, or I close it permanently and hand out warnings.

So it's trolling to call Ott what he is, a turtling, yellow bully?

Heck, if you're going to call that trolling, what do you do when people mention Hull's no goal?

my take on the whole thing is if ott is willing to take a couple of shots at neidermayer he needs to be ready to defend himself. If he cant defend himself he better not crosscheck opponents after the game is over.

I agree, but the game wasn't over. Well, at least technically based upon time still on the clock.

And I agree with this except in the case of goalies. I don't want Turco jumping people after the whistle, and I think it's punk-y and textbook instigating to do what Giguere did.

A goalie jumping a guy will always start a fight, and the guy being jumped is often at a severe disadvantage because a.) they can't punch/fight the goalie and b.) they don't know where the teammate is coming from to jump them. It's not a fair fight, and it's textbook instigating.

Ott would have been smarter not to drop the gloves at all, but he'd have also been killed.

No, but don't do it in a way that circumvents the swear filter and drags the thread down into the mud. I suggest you act like an adult instead of a petulent child, or I will take action for that post like I should have.

No trolling is what you are doing at the moment! Coming into another teams forum and start spouting off garbage of the highest order in not needed but we will happily dog pile you and make you leave one way or another.
