Just said Redden is a great hockey player. Now I am glad Renney is gone for sure.

Doesn't seem bitter or anything... just thought he should perhaps have been afforded a bit more time.

Said he loves the organization and NY and could possibly stay

He doesn't sound bitter or upset, not saying anything bad, just honest and classy.

Just said he'll be rooting for the Rangers tonight, and hopes all the big guys score.

I especially liked when he said that Sather said to him "I've been dreading this day since I hired you"

Definitely class. Maybe too much class.

In closing he said he hopes we win 5-0 tonight.

Henrik with the shutout. Drury, Gomez, Z with goals.

"We need to get some size up the middle."

Strange, the one position people think the Rangers are "set" at, and its one he singles out as needing to be fixed (in addition to defense). Is that a comment on Gomez and Drury?

Yea thats it. With everything we know about Renney, do you really think he'd go on ESPN radio and start ripping his former players??? Especially considering he might stay within the organization?

Think.

"Set" at center or "stuck" at center?

Probably. He said they need size up the middle and they clearly don't have that

Renney really is a class act. I also hope he stays in the organization, but even if he doesn't, I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

That's why I put it in quotes.

We have loads of depth at center. The quality of said depth, well...

the team does have size in the middle in Dubi, but he's on the wing...of course this team also needs size on the wing...hmmm, does this team have a personnel issue? Could it be lacking a guy up front and a guy on the blueline?

Honestly, I wouldn't expect him to say anything negative. He knows what to say and wants to stay in the business, and as such will not burn a bridge or stoop down to lower levels or show that he's a poor sport. I often think those with sour grapes and cry why me are guys you don't want to hire. He took it like a man and is moving on.

One of the best Ranger coaches in my lifetime, glad that so many are acknowledging what a class act the man is.

Ditto. For all the *****ing I did about him, nothing can take away from his gentlemanly conduct, which is something you always wanna have in an organization.

Wasn't this already obvious?

What I'm more interested in is whether or not this was a hint that the stupidity of signing Dopez and Drury was a Sather-motivated move. Because if that is the case, that really puts into perspective just how badly Sather screwed not only the team and the fans, but Renney, as well.

Send a message via AIM to DubiDubiDoo
let dubi, korpi and gomez be the centers, there not huge but it would atleast be decent size..not like every team has hulking centers

I think he would do very good as a scout or a special assignment coach. He seems to be great with the younger players.
