Building Towards Next Season

This season is going straight to hell. Even if we're able to keep the current line up healthy and by some miracle make the playoffs, how on earth will we be able to do anything come that time.

What do you feel this team needs to do when it comes to next season?

The encouraging sign is that we have 3 rookies in the line up right now, with 2 of them being huge parts to our team.

The 3 sophomores on the D line will be a year older and more mature.

Sydor will be gone. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY (unless something happens...then I will go head hunting).

Damn you Lobo, cut this crap out. There's still a chance.

Don't hold your breath too long. You might pass out.

A chance for Marty to get hurt? Yes I know. That's why I have no hope.

Toby Petersen is the difference between battling for the playoffs and giving up?

Please.

No.

The lack of actual offensive threat.
The lack of NHL forwards.
The lack of being consistent.
The lack of a powerplay.

Are all reasons why there's no hope.

Plus, Sydor is on the D line, so the hope of a shut out every night is wasted right away.

You're always optimistic though. I don't think that balances Lobo's streaky negativity coupled with Hull Fan's apocalypse approach.

I have noticed how streaky I am. I ride the highest of highs with a W. And the lowest of lows with a L.

You make me sound so negative. There's nothing wrong with dealing Sutherby and/or Lundqvist for a pick or prospect. There's also nothing wrong with listening to offers on Robidas. I just don't feel like this is a legit playoff team with our injuries and improving toward next year where we hopefully get off to a better start is not fatalistic.

I could agree with only making a move that improves the future of the team.

I still think the team should fight to make the playoffs. No matter what they do, they won't be in a position for a high pick.

things happen, Edmonton made it to the finals a couple years back. I truly believe we are a strong team than they were. The only team I feel we could not beat is the Hawks. I will not concede this season until we win the cup or are sent home. I refuse to.

Yes!
We need to rebuild, A broken bone in a foot
The injury should keep him out 6-8 weeks. (Peterson) Hopefully not more
I dont think the stars have enough active players to have a full roster Unless we are keeping three goalies up as it stands know we are. We currently have only 12 forwards.

This season isnt over but with this injury bug biting it sure as hell is looking like it.

yes they have no offense to speak of right now, but they did hold the best team int he NHL to 1 goal and had many chances to score themselves. If they play like that, they win 9 times out of 10. It's going to be tough, but they should still make the playoffs and just pray some of their injured players make it back in time to do some damage. If not, oh well, it would be considered a hell of a season to come from last place int he West to make the playoffs despite missing the captain and likely top goal scorer, their best defenceman and now their 2nd leading scorer and 2nd line center all to serious injuries, not to mention all the other injuries they've had. Most teams would be dead if you took their best winger and best Dman out for the season, the Stars have fought through everything and I have no reason to believe they won't continue to do the same through April.

I'd take a series win just to be lol'd at.

But, until it happens.

is there really no doubt in your mind that the Stars cannot win the cup? Things happen, things could break our way. Who knows! Always believe!

Stop it.

We need your yin to her yang. I like having constant pessimist (realist) versus the constant optimist.
