Lecavalier to Vancouver

I am at a family diner and we are having a debate. Would either team be interested the following trade -- Lecavalier to vancouver for both Sedins.

Thoughts? Flame away as I disagreed with this proposal...

Vancouver = VERY interested

Tampa = NOT interested

ps: Tell the family to lay off the 'after dinner box of wine'.

First off both of the Sedins are FA's, and even if they signed extensions....no from Tampa, Hell yes from Vancouver

If the Sedins come with 6 year, 500K contracts each and they find a 2nd set of twins.

The Sedins will make close to 6 million in the offseason. Only a little under Lecavalier.

Uh, no they won't. Plus, even if they WERE at 6 million, that's still almost 2 million dollars LESS than Lecavalier... Not "only a little".

You're in denial... They're getting close to 6 mil, maybe more.

i guess Lawton saying Vinny Lecavalier will quote on quote "never" be traded didn't help stop these retarded proposals

Lets see Daniel Sedin 25g-34a=59 pts,Henrick 12g-45a=57pts,,,,,,,Lecavalier 25g-30a=55pts................so which Sedin is he being traded for???

TB takes this and runs (provided the twins are signed long term)

you guys are crack heads......the Sedins LAUGHED at the idea of them asking for 6 million just last week.

They will sign for around 5.5 million each. probably 3-5 years long...with some sort of nmc/ntc (not a full ntc)

this makes no sense with the Sedins as ufa's.

If they were signed for a reasonable contract which will likely be in the 5-5.5 range then there is absolutely no way the Cancuks would trade them for Vinnie. Another first line player would need to be coming back.
People still underestimate the Sedins, but I guess that will never change until people realize they have well over a 1000 points in their career, Daniel has over 500 goals and they have over1300 games played. Then people will look and say hey they were so underrated.

There has to be a trophy awarded annually to the fans of the NHL team that proposes the most crack induced trade proposals each year! I hate to say this Canuck fans but that maybe the one trophy that never leaves your town

Yup, except that the Sedins play as well and imo better than Vinnie in their own end of the rink. While Kesler is a elite checker who is signed for a contract that is not even half of Blakes and unlike Blake he is still growing as a player.

IMHO - I would not trade the sedins for Vinny given the current Vcr situation. (ignoring Salaries, Lawtons comment and FA status). Vancouver is in the playoff hunt and this trade does not help given Gillis stated position Vcr would make a hockey trade to improve their roster...Vinny while a great player needs line mates to succeed. So who on Vcr's roster would play on the first line and what impact would that have on the remaining lines? Or who could Vcr realistically acquire in addition to Vinny given there current trading assets (Raymond, Schnieder, Grabner, picks other then 1st this year)

The individual is arguing that Vinny is a proven playoff performer which the Sedins are not and the team would go further into the playoffs without the Sedins. But the Sedins have not had secondary scoring before so the top defensive line would shut them down...While Vinny has St Louis, Richards, and Boyle to help with secondary scoring the year they won the cup?!?

The top two line for Vcr are
Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Demitra - Sundin - Kesler

The lines with Vinny
??? - Lecavalier - Burrows
Demitra - Sundin - Kesler

Does this line up give Vancouver a better chance in the playoffs this year or next? (loungo is UFA after next year)

Do each of the Sedins also have bum shoulders that havent been fully rehabbed yet?

Or better yet do each of the Sedins have a Rocket Richard trophy and a Stanley Cup Ring?
