Hedja got better with the release of Foote (touted as Mr. Shutdown).. after Jan didn't have to cover for the aging vet his plus minus went up.
I could feel my ears burning..........

I kept getting jumped on at the Edmonton boards for being a Hejda fan when he was in Edmonton. So when he got traded to Columbus, I kept posting his stats.

Last year, I kept being told by posters (some who visited from the Columbus board) that Foote & Leclaire were propping Hejda's stats.

When Foote got traded, Hejda's new partner's +/- went through the roof. Now with Leclaire injured, Hejda's +/- keeps chugging along.

The new response is that Mason is propping Hejda - I just smile when I hear that..........

I can assure you that you can't concentrate if someone is waving his (hockey) stick in front of you. Not often a player can cause havoc enough to make the league write a rule at once because someone had come up with a thing that no-one had done before.

I'd say that was pretty good stuff from an agitator, that's what he is there for. He is what he is, was an important piece for the Rangers last time and that's why they want him back.

I bet they'd rather have Jagr back.

Besides, under Torts Sean Avery will suddenly find the inspiration to be Little Miss Manners. He might have to actually PLAY HOCKEY, too.

I think 53 points in 86 regular season and 12 points in 18 playoff games for the Rangers is pretty good "Playing hockey" for an agitator

And I believe that fact- that Avery is capable of playing good hockey and contributing to a team effort- is why so many people have grown disgusted and weary of him and his antics. Avery has repeatedly chosen buffoonery and assbackwardness over playing hockey as it should be played.

Don't worry, we always get to hear that Mason is just a product of the system. And so it goes...

Is it just me, or was that the gayest piece of hockey journalism ever written?

3 references to Hejda's ass.

Portzline, you sir are gay.

Does anyone know what sports reporters are getting layed off by the Dispatch? It's a rarity for a paper of this size to have two hockey guys, so i'm wondering...

Reed and Portzline both posted to Puck Rakers today, so I would think they're in the clear. But if other sports staffers got cut, they may wind up with more responsibilities on their plate.

I'd be willing to bet Porty gets a higher salary than Reed because he's been around for a lot longer

OH NOES!!!!! The Dispatch is gonna cut back on their OSU coverage. How will I ever find out what that High Schooler who is remotely interested in OSU is eating for lunch.

I NEED TO KNOW THESE THINGS!!!! Because if he eats a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup as a dessert, that's only one step away from eating a Buckeye, and you know what that means...

I bet their sports staff goes fairly unscathed.

I heard the arts/entertainment/lifestyles section was taking a big hit.

Apparently the Ducks waived Brendan Morrison today. Which does not make me think we should pick him up.

Wow, I understood none of that statement.

Is that why you're not a mod anymore?

Big love for Steve Mason in this week's Hockey News. Between article and pics he has four pages of the magazine. Not bad at all! Too cute that his mom doesn't think he'll ever be able to grow a full beard like Peca! You just know he went, "Oh Mom, why did you have to say that???"

Grats Filatov. I wish we had landed Wilson, but that won't stop me for cheering for our newest enigmatic Russian.

I just hate that Wilson ended up with the Preds. I hate them so bad. I hate you guys (Nashville). Screw Nashville, I'm going home.

How about "Nashville Sucks" in D-Minor?

What I don't understand is if they were going to put Hodgson on the cover, why not just make him the #1 prospect?

I apologize for misleading you all. When the info was leaked that Nik was rated the top prospect, I just assumed that he'd be on the cover. Honestly, I can't recall THN ever putting someone other than the top prospect on their future watch issue, but there is only the Hodgson cover. I'm sorry folks

Yeah I was dissapointed Filatov wasn't on the cover either but...canadian...gonna sell more magazines in canada so put the WJC winning Hodgson on the cover. not like they can just ignore the votes for top prospect and just give it to hodgson though I bet they thought about it

pretty stupid to not even have a mini picture of the #1 prospect on the cover.

Wilson is going to be a beast too, if he was Canadian he'd have as much hype as Toews!

Line for Detroit game

Heard Hitch on QFM this morn...he says he's looking at a 2nd line of: Umberger-Vermette-Williams, moving Williams to wing.
