Why do you enforce packaging Antropov and Kaberle together.
Dealt separately they fetch a large package than being dealt together, you just make them look like the Leafs want to get rid of them.

If Boston does this, they really need to make a trade of Ryder or Bergeron for cap wiggle room this summer, especially since Sturm comes back on the books and Thomas is a UFA.

Ryder and a pick for Armstrong?

I don't know where this "monster" offer talk comes from. It's a decent offer.

Even the writer who first reported this rumour in the Boston Herald stated;

"....it certainly would take more to land Kaberle."

I think they could get a lot better deal than that. 30+ goals for $4M isn't a bad deal at all.

near the end of the article is says,"B's are to lose three draft picks and Colborne in the process"
It's sloppy sentence structure. The writer was using "forward Joe Colborne of Denver University" as an appositive phrase to modify "2008 first-round pick." Unfortunately, the writer listed that first, when it would have been more clear if it was put last in the list (the Bruins have offered their 2009 first round pick, a third round pick, and Denver University forward Joe Colborne, their 2008 first round pick.")

The writer's sloppy structure apparently even baffled himself, as he mistakenly listed the offer as three first rounders.

Agreed. You get a good prospect at forward and 2 1st rounders? The Leafs won't be making any cup runs this year or next, but the picks could really help them in the long term...

According to Strickland Anaheim is looking for Kessel a propsect and a first for Pronger, so if there is a Kaberle deal on the table you have to figure that Burke would be looking to aquire Phil. I can guarantee you that if the package was Kessel and a first then the prospect wouldn't be Colborne. On Wednesday if Pronger is not a Bruin and he ends up in Philly or Montreal look for Boston to put together a huge package for Kaberle.

Well obviously both Anaheim and Toronto are gonna try for Kessel, that certainly doesn't mean he'll be dealt (would be very surprised to see him moved).

What makes the most sense for Boston to do is try to move Bergeron, look at the season they are having and with two RFA's in Krecji and Kessel both needing to be signed nest year, Bergeron's salary can come off the books and it won't hurt the offence at all. Bergeron, Colborne or Lashoff and a first for Kaberle .

That is an absolutely ridiculous overpayment. If the Leafs could actually make the deals that are proposed here for them they would be cup champions every year for the next century.

If anything Bergeron's trade value right now is next to nothing , until he can prove he can play out a whole season healthy.

If that's really the case, and I don't believe it is, then Boston has ZERO incentive to trade him.

Bergeron may get traded in the offseason, but makes no sense trading him now for Kaberle when their success is based mainly on having 3 solid scoring lines.

Kaberle is a very valuable asset though, Colborne and the 09 and 10 first rounders might be better, but still probably going to have to up the ante a little. How about Hunwick, Colborne, and a 09 first?

Burke has made it clear what he wants for Kaberle a young roster player, a first and a high end prospect.

I hope Boston trades Kessel. Make it fair for the rest of the East.

he's not going to get that much. He wants more than what he was going to get last year and that makes zero sense

Right now it would be Boston vs Pittsburgh in the 1st round. You writing off Pittsburgh already?

That's the beauty of a draft pick, no one knows it's value until the season is over.
