TSN: Halak to join Canadiens in Atlanta

Per Ray Ferraro on TSN.

Said Gainey told Carbonneau, who relied it to the media in a press conference.

So i assume this means he isn't getting traded. Thank god i was worried that "the flu" actually meant were trading his ass. Good to hear he'll be joining the team again soon!

If Halak is still ill, perhaps one of the defencemen can play goal. Price certainly can't!

Good.

Now Price can focus on the partying without hurting the team on the ice.

Halak has played great but i'd be shocked if he can keep this up which is exactly the problem.

The fact is, its sad that this team whose FILLED with veterans especially on defense is reyling on 2 guys 23 and under between the pipes to carry them.

Maybe I am wrong and he will pull a Theodore down the stretch but its asking a lot of a young goalie to deal with these buffoons on defense.

I hope Price doesn't turn into a Jocelyn Thibault.. All that hype coming into the league, just to be a flop without having a significant full season to speak of.

Entire defense became that much worse defensive since the Schneider trade.

I honestly have to say you band wagoneers and Price bashers are pathetic and the same idiots who bash the top players when they are in a funk.

But seriously if you think losing tonight was Price's fault your obviously not watching the game, your just hating and that goes to show your knowledge in hockey.

Our D sucks.

Our forwards show up once in a while and never consistantly together.

This is a confidence killer to Price because his team expects him to steal games while they don't play for him.

Price was thrown into the fire waay too early. The Huet debacle has more side effects than the obvious one of us getting booted from the playoffs.

I think after tonights performance Halak is gonna play even if he's on a stretcher. Price is CLEARLY not on his game right now.

I'd go with the following line-up for Friday;

Alex Tanguay - Saku Koivu - Matt D'Agostini
Max Pacioretty - Tomas Plekanec - Alex Kovalev
Christopher Higgins - Maxim Lapierre - Andrei Kostitsyn
Gregory Stewart - Glen Metropolit - Mathieu Dandenault

Andrei Markov - Mike Komisarek
Roman Hamrlik - Ryan O'Byrne
Josh Gorges - Mathieu Scheinder

Jaroslav Halak

I'd be happy with this line up. Even though I don't have any problems with Metro's play so far.

Nice lineup...but I like Metropolit on the 4th line. He can win faceoffs and he's another veteran guy who can play with a big of grit. He's much better than Chipchura right now.

But everything else looks good.....good job !!!

Thank god Halak is back, we need a goalie that wants to play and win and a goalie who won't let in 5 goals everytime he plays. Price needs to find himself and get back to the goalie he was in junior. All that hype had to come from somewhere....so it must have been his play in junior that gave him his terrific repuation.

I know. I can't imagine why people would be on the "bandwagon" of the guy who is single handedly winning us games when we need them most. This should all be about Carey Price and fixing his problems, not the Montreal Canadiens. Screw whats good for the team!

Andrei likes to run his line by himself, I think. If he's got Higgins and Lapierre on his line, he can do all he wants because he'll have Higgins working hard in the corners and Max can drive the net. I also think that Kostitsyn can get Higgins going as they compliment each other well.

I also think that D'Agostini is most effective with Koivu right now. And, do you remember when he broke in? The line was Tangs, Koivu and D'Ags.. and they were on fire until Tanguay's injury. I'd like to see if they can duplicate that.

I also think it makes the 3 lines a lot more dangerous than just 2.

Dang Halak is still ill and not sure if he's gonna play. This 100th year is a curse.

Maybe we should play Denis, keep Halak as his backup, and let Price recover in the AHL.
