Svatos

I am not sure where to put this question so I mde a new thread. My apologies to the mods if this is elsewhere.

What do people think of picking up a player like Svatos? Scores some goals and although he isnt overly large is relatively fast. HJe is still young and may be the type of player who might work with zherdev or gomez.

Prucha V2.0

He might be a redundant part. He struggled during stretches of the season this year, im not sure if i would give up much or anything for him. I think the Rangers need a little more size and would rather keep Prucha anyway. If you are going to trade away some parts make sure its for the right player.

I dont think this is the guy.

Absolutely not. This team needs a roster spot for Anisimov without question. Maybe Grachev as well. They need to dump extra forwards. Not acquire more of them. I'm also wondering if Pyatt might find a place as the 4th line center eventually. Seems like his offense is picking up a lot this year for the Pack. He seems to be on an upward trend now.

Alright, I just saw that he has scored some goals and I thought he looked god when he played against them a few days ago.

The difference between Svatos and Prucha is:

-He is heavier.

-And he scores.

He is a better player.

Just have to ask yourself if the extra 10 goals/years is worth the extra few 100K/year.

To be honest, the forward I wanted the Rangers to pick up before the leafs did is Lee Stempniak. Of course this was a couple of months ago, but he's a good young right wing with some scoring upside and regularly plays the point on the power play.

Edit: I'd still really like him on the team in place of Prucha, Dawes, and the like but it would probably cost us three or four 1st round picks to grab anyone from Toronto(according to Burke).

Svatos isnt Prucha, but they are similar enough. Svatos is piss poor defensively and at playmaking as well, id take a pass unless he was really cheap, which he wont be.

like some other posters, he would not be my first choice, but saying that it will not be easy to aquire skill from any roster because of the high amount of buyers this year. I would say keep him in mind come the next few days and get him for a good price.

I agree, I had been saying for a while that Sather should have picked him up. He is a good young player.

Prucha has a 1.6 million cap hit nad he has 4 goals.

And I am in no way saying Prucha is a bad player but obviously that extra 400k would be wisely invested for another 20 or more goals a season.

prucha also gets 0 pp time, and had no consistent playing time. he also was playing under a suffocating Renney system.

Svatos is a signed player for next season.$2.05 million cap #/$2.35 million salary.Prucha has been a waste of cap space for the past two seasons in terms of production(not placing blame with anyone).Prucha is a group II this summer. The Rangers have enough smallish forwards.

Rather have them get a bigger winger too but they do need offense so I would not cry if they got him
