What? You make it sound as if Giroux is some great NHL talent...He has shown flashes, Why so defensive? Giroux is a great skater Riendeau is not. That will be the difference on making it to the NHL for Riendeau.

We are crazy about possibly striking gold with Riendeau. His stats are eye opening and more so to Bruin fans (hehehe).

Any body that wants to lift a leg to a fire hydrant can do so on one found on their property.

Make that 26 goals, 47 points and +18 in 16 games.

Just one point shy of averaging 3 per game.

What I really like about Riendeau right now is that he is separating from the scoring pack. His 47 points are now 12 points greater than the next leading scorer in the QMJHL playoffs (who is his teammate). If Riendeau and his teammates were all clumped together with the incredible numbers, it would be tough to figure out who the engine was. It seems pretty clear however that the engine for Drummondville is Riendeau.

Drummondville scored seven goals in their first nine power-play chances and finished 7-for-16, while Shawinigan converted one of six opportunities.

16 powerplays!

That defenseman Dmitry Kulikov has 20 points in 16 games for Drummondville. I'm sure that's helping Riendeau as well as the 16 powerplays

Kulikov is supposed to be a puck-moving savant.

Kulikov will probably be a top-10 pick in Montreal- B's don't have a shot at him.

Giroux is some great NHL talent. I'd think his 5 points in 6 NHL playoff games cemented that.

I'm not defensive. I was simply correcting an inaccuracy in the ages of two players that made a poor comparison look like a good one. I provided the names of two teammates who scored similarly to Riendeau as 19 year olds and what they're doing as 20 year olds (playing professionally). I haven't seen Riendeau play since last years final* so I'm not going to comment on his progresion.

I like the Riendeau signing but it's a longshot.

*To be honest I can't say I noticed him in the two games I saw.

Riendeau got the assist on Drummondville's only goal in 4-1 loss.

So far in Game 6, Riendeau scored the only goal for Drummondville. It's 1-1 and going into overtime.

Hey can anyone figure out what % of Drummondville goals he factors in on? It seems like they don't get points that Riendeau didn't contribute towards.

To say he stepped up his game in the playoffs is an MASSIVE understatement.

Rask has looked really good in what I saw from the regular season and the 2 playoff games I went to. Unfortunately I also saw the 5-3 loss last Friday, but Providence played bad as a whole that game, I could only fault him on 2 of the goals honestly.

Can't wait to see a Timmy/Rask combo. 50/32? Sounds good to me!

As long as we're discussing AHL prospects, Brad Marchand needs to get his credit. He's playing his best hockey in the playoffs, and is at a point/game. For kid who just turned 21 this past week, that is phenomenal production. He's also perfectly balanced with 5 goals and 5 assists in 10 games.

In my opinion Marchand has long surpassed Hamill in prospect rankings (they are 4 months apart in age) and is about even with Sobotka. Look for him to take a run at a roster spot next year, especially if Sturmie leaves and Soderberg pulls his usual.

Game 7 of the Drummondville v Shawinigan series tonight at 7:30 pm. I realize that Riendeau is an overager, and any NHL success is far from guaranteed, but he put up good numbers in the reg season, and now in the PO's he's racking up phenomenal totals, and he continues to do it despite the fact that teams have got to be keying on him.

Anything the B's get from this guy on the NHL level would be gravy, and while unlikely that he has an impact, it's nice to have hope, lol.

Marchand has a history of stepping up his game come playoff time, just look at his junior stats, 65 career playoff games, 79 pts...1.2 pts per game (his last 3 seasons were an even more impressive 54 games/78 pts...).

I would not put him quite at Sobotka's level yet, but if both can continue to develop, it will make for some hard decisions this fall at training camp.

He's gotten plenty, IMO.

I wrote an article dedicated to his playoff heroics going back to junior on hj.com.

He'll get his shot in Boston, at least a quick one, next year, but I expect he won't be ready for primetime until the 10-11 season. But, very candid interview- definitely one of my favorites to talk to because he doesn't BS around or duck responsibility or throw the cliches around so much. I wish everyone went to the same school for conducting interviews that Brad did.
