There could be more to it than the players just "not wanting" to show up or give it a try. Not going to speculate, as I haven't talked to the players involved.

Sure, it would be nice to see these guys get a taste of play at the AHL level and how they measure up, but I don't know the specifics and am not really focused on them to be honest. Seems a bit like making mountains out of molehills to me.

Word in Lewiston is that Ruel is headed to Providence.

What you'll get: an awkward skater who really, really likes to crosscheck. "Der Katalyst" is also an offensive force, often sparking rushes up the ice...for the other team.

Seriously, he's not bad. But right now he's going to be totally, totally overwhelmed at the AHL level. Be nice to him.

Bruin's Blog (Boston.com) has Ruel joining Providence this weekend.

Lets all hope his skating isn't as atrocious as we have all heard it was and he is able to contribute well down there. I'm excited for him to join the PBs.

Out of all the players eligible to join the team, Providence gets fricken Reul. Oh, how exciting. Let's hope at least Arniel comes over when Sarnia gets eliminated.

Makes sense in some ways...he is probably the most marginal guy that they are not sure if they want to sign beyond an ATO (assuming this is an ATO). I get what you're saying though...was hoping to see Arniel and Suave.

Adam McQaid hits hard

This is from Fluto's Blog: Twice this season, according to Rob Murray, McQuaid has broken opponents' jaws with punches.

So do the Bruins sign Brock Bradford out of BC or do they tell him to go back to school for another year??

Brock is a Senior thus his amateur status is complete.

That is not true. Brock is a senior but he was granted a medical redshirt after missing the majority of the season last year with 2 broken arms. If he would like or the Bruins would like he has 1 more year of eligibility left.

I think he's proven enough in college. Time for him to move on to the AHL and see if that scoring can carry over.

I agree completely. He's finished school, and there is no point in him being there any longer. Lets see what he can do as a pro.

He's going to get a degree from one of the most prestigious universities in the country. If he envisions a career in professional hockey, now is the time to start. Rarely does one see in college hockey, unlike football, a redshirted player staying beyond his graduating class.

I'm talking to Brock Bradford on Monday, so we'll soon have it all cleared up.

Sit tight.

Sarnia Sting were beat tonight so Jamie Arniel's junior season is done. Interesting to see if he gets a call.

I heard that as soon as his OHL season is done, he'd be signing an ATO and joining Providence.

Look for that announcement in the next 48-72 hours.

Do you think having an ATO and not a contract would be a reason not to go? Is that what Sauve is maybe doing? I think Reul needed the ATO to show what he could do, not sure how much he showed in junior.

I suppose it is a possibility.

Nate Thompson, Levi Nelson, Andrew Bodnarchuk and Jordan Knackstedt are all guys who played for Providence on ATOs before they officially signed NHL contracts.

Brad Marchand stayed home last year after Halifax got knocked out, but has clearly been a part of Boston's developmental plan, so for whatever reason, Sauve's not in the mix for now, but it doesn't really mean much, IMO.

Yes, I agree with you, not really sure myself how ATO's work. Lot's of behind the scenes things that happen that no one hears about, or really need to know about as well.
