Reddox: 5 goals, 9 points

It's kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

Hey now, don't think I'm defending Penner. Far from it. I'm just saying that because he's the best offensive option we have on the LW (in terms of production), he should probably start there. If he's dragging his ass again tonight, bench him.

Having said that, I don't necessarily disagree with the decision to start Reddox there. I just think Penner should be given some time early to see if he's going. As we've seen this year, for the one or two games after a benching, Penner can be an effective player.

Really, the whole discussion of Penner vs. Reddox is disappointing because they both shouldn't be there. If they don't get a scoring LWer tomorrow, it's going to suck.

EDIT: Looks like Spawn and I are on the same page with the last point.
Agreed, even Mike Knuble is a better option, and he's probably more then likely available.

Well it seems you have covered every part of the argument so now we can move on to another subject.

Agreeded, Rant is over. I feel better

Edit
Now that I did all that ranting I feel like a dumb ***.

Heres what Gregor just posted on Oilers Nation in the comments section

Quote:
Jacques is in tonight on the 4th line. Reddox moves up to the 3rd line and Pouliot will stay on the second line. Nilsson sits again it looks like.

I get putting Jacques in because of size, but Pouliot over Nilsson again is perplexing. Granted Nilsson has done nothing lately, but neither has Pouliot, and in my mind Nilsson still offers more than Pouliot, especially when neither are bringing much to the ice right now.

I can't believe that Nilsson is sitting over Pouliot. This team will continue to suffer as long as stupid decisions like this are made.

Reddox is on the first line now for tonight.

According to the TEAM 1260 the lines will be...yikes...

Reddox-Horcoff-Hemsky
Pouliot-Gagner-Cole
Penner-Cogs-Pisani
Jacques-Brodziak-Stortini

Dear sweet merciful god.

Dear sweet merciful god.
I think getting a LW will be huge on lowe's list tomorrow. I think this is the last time they are going to give Penner that chance and they must know Reddox is not a option.

Nope. I'd say Nillson could be a trade scratch and beyond that we do have to fill out our roster tonight somehow.

I can live with Reddox on the top line for another game after he showed a bit of chemistry last night.

Would like to swap Gagner with Cogliano though because Pisani and Gagner had chemistry last year.

Pouliot I don't even know what to say anymore This team has dragged him along for too long.

Its not like we are flush with offensive LWers right now.

It sucks, but who else has done anything on that line lately? Penner is pointless in 6, and Nilsson didn't do anything when given the opportunity.

I'm more pissed about Pouliot being in over Nilsson; unless they're sitting Nilsson because he's part of an upcoming deal.

Pouliot has been a miserable failure on this team.

Who are we kidding with this guy anymore?

If nobody is going to take our crap, why not toss them on waivers like these other teams are doing? Just see what happens.

I know, you are right, but it's still frustrating.

It is impossible for Reddox to do worse.

Gregor said the sitting of Nilsson over Pouliot makes no sense unless the Oilers are trying to move Nilsson. Take it for what its worth. Sounds like speculation but intresting.

He can't do worse than Penner, that's for sure. What's really frustrating is the mismanagement of this team.

I thank you Rin & Mowzie Joint Production for your excellent GDT. I would hope that the BrainRust is trying to improve their team by adding and/or subtracting assets in a judicious fashion. Well maybe "crapshoot" would a be descriptor?

I'm gonna ask here since I'm pretty sure it's allowed. Is there a stream for this game somewhere?

How quickly people forget how well Reddox has been playing of late.

I was one of the people wondering what he was even doing in the NHL, but he's been playing good, hard hockey. Until our guys start working harder and producing more, we have to reward those who do.
