Which team does NBC show a little too much?

Which of these teams' Kool-Aid are NBC's NHL executives drinking a little bit too much of?

All 3 really. It makes it hard for me to vote on just one.

I can see why they play the Wings, great team that won the cup last year, but I don't think Anaheim or Carolina got any additional coverage after winning.

The Penguins have the "young stars," but there are plenty of interesting teams.

The Rangers, oh where to start? If they were the Tampa Rangers we'd definitely see a lot less of them, so I'll go with the Rags.

They don't show any of them too much. There is a reason they get aired so much. They have to get viewers and Detroit is a large market for hockey and the defending champs and a top 3 team in the league. The Rangers play in New York and are one of the largest markets in hockey, and when they play the Flyers you have history, a rivalry, and another huge market team to attract viewers.

Pit has Crosby and Malkin, and as much as I don't like them they have to be show cased, they have to be put out there as much as possible. The league wants Crosby to be their poster boy, and they're going to try to use him to draw viewers. My only problem with this is that Ovechkin is arguably a better player, at the very least they are equal in terms of skill, and he has so many more marketable qualities. If it were up to me I'd put a lot of effort into teaching him English. As dumb as that may sound to some of you, it makes a lot of sense. I know he's probably trying, but I'd make it a priority of the league to make sure he has an excellent translator and teacher who is working with him constantly. If he could speak English clearly the league would have exactly what it needs, a super star, an incredibly exciting player, a goal scoring machine, and intersting, funny character. His personality is much more geared to marketing and advertising the league than Crosby's. I think that Washington should be pushed as much as possible, especially Was vs. Pit matchup.

While you can never show too much hockey, NBC does seem to focus on the Pens an awful lot.

The Rags. The other 2, I understand. They went to the finals last year.

But the Rangers are shockingly mediocre. Stop SHOWCASING AVERAGE HOCKEY!

Show the frigging Sharks, Flames... Bruins

Rangers. I can understand Pittsburgh because they've had recent success and possess two superstars. The Rangers are boring and have no superstars. I have a hard time watching them.

NBC can never show enough Red Wings games. Excellent hockey.

Clearly the Penguins.

If we aren't watching the Penguins, we are hearing about the Penguins in one form or another.

Even if the Penguins aren't playing that day.

Close between the Penguins and Rangers. Both are pretty mediocre teams.

But I had to pick the Rangers. At least Crosby and Malkin are exciting players worth watching. The Rangers are a boring team with boring players, in addition to being mediocre.

Rangers.

If NBC is trying to attract fans, a Rangers game isn't going to do it.

ovechkin's english is actually very good for someone who started a few years ago. of course his sentences aren't going to be perfect, but it's good enough that he can speak the language and do interviews and understand everything.

Red Wings are cup winners.
Pittsburgh are a run-and-gun team with 2 of the best players in the league.
Rangers are a mediocre defensive minded team..damn boring.

easily the rangers thankfully vs doesnt only show rangers, red wings, flyers, and penguins. there are enough broadcasts to go around. i like the fact that the isles and avalanche were shown the other day. while not a great game per se at least you get a lil bit of diversity.
